I did have one small mod: crunched the bottom of my passenger side door :yikes:
Whoops! Are you going to leave it, or fix it?
not playing favorites, but im curious on everyones take on the bed? Im sure everyone has seen the chevy commercial with the patio blocks and the tool box being dropped in the aluminum bed. how durable is it to you guys?
We haven't ever done anything stupid like that with our work trucks in 30 years. If you need a dump truck, go rent a dump truck or dump trailer. GM's marketing is stupid. I'll be paying another $1000 for rust repairs this fall. My next truck WILL be aluminum.
I've been rolling my 2013 FX4 crew cab, 5.0 since new and it's been flawless. F150's are great platforms to start from and with only light modifications are very off road worthy. Did a Utah road trip last and did Canyonlands White Rim trail and it was great. Payload, 36 gallon fuel tank, room for everything. Plus great comfort for the highway miles. I leveled mine, but will likely upgrade to some Bilsteins in the near future. Great trucks. I doubt you'll miss your Tacoma.
That's a good looking truck! So far I'm super happy with going to the F-150. Only downside I've found is breakover compared to the taco. I've got a trip planned for next April to Canyonlands and plan on doing the white rim trail so that's awesome. Did you run anything else? We were considering hitting Hell's Revenge as well.
