Transfer case leaking at shifter

Is this just the boot leaking? I believe the previous owner has done the white ball, should I go ahead and replace any of the gaskets as well? Is high temp RTV okay here or should I get some OEM gaskets?

Thanks!

Do you have a seepage down the side of your T-case?
Honestly it looks like long term residue.
If you have visible leaking gaskets are great,, but I have had great success with this,
Permatex Ultra Gray RTV.
Just follow the instructions on the package .

there is a mud slide down the transfer case and I believe I'm low on fluid. It looks like a slow weep, but that's been probably going on for ages. I don't see active drips when parked. Would the cracked boot leak oil?

I second Chucks comment. . Clean and check again.
If you need gear oil it requires GL4 specifically. I got 4 quarts from Rockauto.
StaLube 85/90w hypoid multi purpose # SL24229.
