When the renovation is complete there will be a double hydraulic connection on the back of the truck. One connection the the brakes and one for the engaging and disengaging of the trailer PT case.

Haven't had too much time lately to work either on the trailer or the truck renovation but I now know what I shall do with the trailer!

I shall get ahold of an extra truck bed and some other body parts and turn the trailer into a mini version of the trucks bed/loadbay.

Kind of like this:

Took a bunch of measurements to make sure that the trailer won't come in contact with the truck with full trailer movement:

No problem!

About 10 years ago, Unicat built a powered trailer for the Maximog project. The trailer can move itself via an onboard diesel generator, or by attachment to the hydraulic PTO on the Unimog-based tow vehicle.

Time for an update as I will not be buying my friends trailer shown in this thread. I have found my own that has been in storage the last 17 years and is in awesome shape!

The only thing I will be doing with the new one is strip it of all paint and repaint i graphite gray. I will not be building it into a hardtop version to look like the truck as I will keep it the way it should look.

Here it is with a frame for a canvas top.

Too cool!
I remember looking at the photos of those pivoting arms on the coupler and wondering how they would articulate. Awesome.

They articulate very well. Volvo was also smart when they designed it with the swings stops.

I will be fun to see how well it can really perform as a 6x6 with new tires and low air pressure in them when it's all done.

That is just way too cool! I just don't want to be the person that has to change that many U-joints. :smiley_drive:
