Trd gear ratio

I am looking for a 05+ trd rear axle with an e-locker to swap in to my 06 2.7l tacoma. Does anyone know if these came with 3.58 gears so that i would not need to do a gear change? Thank u.

Do you have access to the vehicle the axle came out of?
You can tell what the ratio is from the vin number. I am not sure what ratio was used with the four cylinder.
Or if you have the axle, count the rotations.
Hope this helps.

No the axle is from a junk yard. And mine does have 3.58. I was woundering if any other trd had them

My 05 TRD (4.0 AT) came with 3.73's

No "TRD" came with the 2.7, and the 2.7 equipped trucks I've seen came with 4.10's AFAIK So you would most likely need to regear the front to 3.73 to match, not too sure how the 2.7 would respond. Never even heard of a Toy 4WD with 3.58's???

Ok, I think we are all confused.:Wow1: Is your truck a 2wd non TRD 4 cylinder and you want to swap in the E locker?
If so and you have bigger tires, use the 3.73 that comes with the E locker.

Did I get it right?

Your right!

2.7L has the 4.10's
3.73 for the V6 motor

It may be best just to go to the source here http://www.toyota.com/tacoma/specs.html I usually don't trust a lot of those "indie" sights much anymore, I've been led into to many mistakes in the past, even from info I've gotten here (nobody is perfect), so I always verify with the manufacture before I pull the trigger on anything.

Interestingly enough it shows that 358's are available with the 4 cyl 4x4 as you said, but only for the auto and yours is manual............curious.

But the bottom line is if you're going to drop in a trd rear end in, it's going to have 373's. So you will have to change your front to match.
