Troubleshooting Renogy DC-DC charger. Is there anything else I can try?

I had a negative wire fry itself in my rig last year on a trip. It was a mystery to me as well how it happened, but it happened. Replaced and moved on. Ground wires (meaning quality/size) are often over looked in a system but proper installation is still vitally important. And sometimes you still learn the hard way.

Glad you got it. I was dead certain it was the Renogy. I have one of their chargers and i just don't love it but it works most of the time.

Glad you figured this out without a fire. I am no expert as I said but I almost had a fire in our brand new 2017 Toyota 4RUNNER OffRoad, due to undersized wiring and a bad 12v socket connection. I was literally seconds away, it had already melted plastic and the burns on my thumb and index finger took a couple years to fully heal.

Since then, I always use oversized high strand copper welding cable. Fuses, circuit breakers and everything with its own on/off switch are the way.
