The biggest downside I see with all of these toyhaulers is that none of them can actually haul a Jeep or something useful in their garage. Even those Roxxor deals are either too long or too heavy for them. Not that people don't do it, but still.

100%, I don't have a jeep or other 4-wheel rig. Just dirtbikes, bicycles, and kayaks. For me, this will be my ski and moto rig as well as family weekend trips.

I'm interested in the concept, but I don't think it's gonna work for quads or small SxS. Problem is that the OHV often takes up the entire bed of the truck, even with a long bed, both front to back and side to side. Here is an example:


This is a trail - which is 50" wide, and it is a 6 foot bed. Not much room for anything else.

Note - I do NOT recommend hauling your machine this way - I only did this to get to a trailhead that was a mile away. It was tied down tight, but still pretty nerve-wracking to load and unload.

I’m interested in thoughts and feedback on this overland concept. I’m working on a frame mounted camper that has a drop ramp for loading/unloading toys. I think it would be great for keeping bikes, kayaks, motorcycles, etc safe while driving long ways. The ramp would also double as a deck. What are the must have features you look for in a rig?

I'm quite offended by the renderings that imply that a female always has a phone up to her ear. My wife, for instance, only has one up to her ear during waking hours.

Yes, not everything will fit, there are for sure limitations. But...1 quad will fit. I think it’ll be great for hunting and solo trips

Yep, it can be done, but not like the original concept image. I like what you've got going there, but I don't like living in a garage. I still have a flatbed trailer, that is lifted, that I use for trips where I'm tent-camping. I gotta say though, that coming back from a day of riding, dirty and tired, my 25' toyhauler has amenities that turn the recovery experience into a cushy one . My logic with a trailer is that I have a comfortable "base" that I can work from, and I can get anywhere I need to in the backcountry using my cat. I have yet to have any problems with fumes or leaks from my machine, but mud, dirt, etc is another story.

We are actually considering upgrading to a 35' fiver so that we can stay out longer - and have living spaces separate from the garage.

Here's my pro tip for keeping the insides clean. Bring along a small battery powered garden blower. Open up the back, start at the front and blow the hair, dust, dirt, crumbs, gravel, etc right out the back.

It is a little over 13 feet tall right now. Once we get the solar panels installed, it will be just under 13'6" tall. We look down into 18-wheel tractor-trailer rigs on the highway.

It is rated at 4.5 mpg. We just did a 2,000+ mile four-day trip, with my foot to the floor the whole way, riding on the 65 mph electronic speed limiter as if it were cruise control. It got about 4.5 mpg...

That thing is a beat. Wow!

I don’t have a ton of assembly details as I used a builder. It’s 1in steel tubing with aluminum panels outside and ply interior. Fuel consumption isn’t really changed except in head winds. The camper doesn’t weigh much more than the bed that came off. 1k and some change. Handling is a little more tippy, but I swing it around like my wife’s forester since it’s shorter than my crew cab.

I gotta say this is exactly what I designed for myself a few years ago, just shorter. I think it's a really really smart design. Especially with a longer 9 or 10 foot flatbed based design. Would love to see more of the interior. Is there a bathroom and kitchen? Great work! I'd be interested in something like this for sure but I'd probably be more interested in composite construction. Are considering building and selling something like this?

I’m working on a 4 door version. The single cab was a great learning experience.
