Awesome adventure!!! Would someone be willing to share the tracklog?

I have most of the tracks, but I'm missing some and have other pieces from Rattler. I need to make it so my GPS never turns off and remember to save the tracks before they fill up!

I hope to get Jason's tracks when he gets back from his trip, and I'll make up some maps with some commentary. Might be a while, but I'll post them and PM you when done... Mike.

Awesome, thanks!!!

Set your track points too 150', you shouldn't run out at all on a log across the UP.

Great job Frank! Nice videos, I want my cruiser to be in front of you next year too! Lots of editing there, what software did you use? Looks awesome, and I like the music too. Mike S.

I used this program that came with my computer called muvee. It's pretty cool but it does seem to crash a lot. It takes some patience. It's easy to use though. I'm still getting the hand of it.

I've used muvee and will agre it is fairly simple and easy to use. I have used it to edit a couple I have made in the past.

That took a lot of time & effort and I think the results are amazing! I like how a single wiper blade is blended into two, synchronized with the music (or is that just in my head)... One of the best homegrown videos I've ever seen, but since my FJ40 is in it, I might be biased. We ended up with about 850 pictures and 7GB of video...

We have a good one of the washboard trail where everyone's shocks are getting a workout (boing, boing, boing), but it was too long to post.

I wish we would have caught you surfing, like you said, it's not every day you see a dude in an H3 in the UP just wandering about in the surf.

I made a comment about "if I say it's safe to surf this beach, lance, it's safe to surf this beach. You probably didn't get it. At about 11:00 in this clip, you get the picture, from apocalypse now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHjWDCX1Bdw . Watching the video, more than 20 years later, I see a completely different viewpoint. He should have had 3 skegs instead of 2. Rookie.

Forgot to mention... Your H3 when you were filling up your tires near Whitefish Point was so impressive. My engine bay was trashed (1960's technology). Yours was completely clean, organized, with international symbols for what's what. This after running through the same mud & grime everyone else went through.

As an engineer for a supplier to GM, I was stunned to see your engine bay virtually spotless. Next year, I want a closer look at how that was done.

Maybe its a 'Yota thing. My engine bay was filthy too. Then again, everything was on my truck.

A quick review of a new product I tried on the trip; Scrublades! They are a new windshield wiper that has a doubleblade with a diamond-like pattern on it to clean bugs off. They work well at doing so too. The only sleight problem I noticed is dirt gets in between the blades sometimes and takes a bit to get out. Otherwise, if you get a ton of bugs, simply run some washer fluid and the wipers for about 20 seconds and it is clean. I ordered them from Seirra Expeditions a week before the trip for both the Taco and Tracie's Escape. They are reasonably priced too (read "still a lot cheaper than Bosch Icons").

I give them a :jumping::luxhello::wings: rating.

My 4runner gets the same way when I wheel. The engine bay gets packed with mud and gunk. The Hummer does a good job of keeping that stuff out. It's supposed to be able to cross 2' deep water stock so I'm thinking they probably tried to keep as much out of the engine bay as they could.

Next time we wheel definitely take a look. I spent about 2 hours under the Hummer, then the 4runner and back checking out the differences. I found it pretty interesting. I would not be a bit surprised if GM did the same when they started beafing up the Colorado/Canyon chassis for the H3.
