sorry if you already said this is previous posts…. what kind of coatings did you put on the flatbed on v4. Also if you know the alloy #s of aluminium the bed was fabricated out of. Also how is the bed holding up for you? Any cracks or things you would do different. I ask because I have heard of aluminum that is subjected to a lot of vibration can crack or fatigue. The kind of roads I am thinking of when asking is this question is wash board. No offense meant by this question to the fabricator or welder. just interested. Also how is the coatings holding up. Thanks for your time chris and thanks for running your business the way you do. I check this thread everyday. And have asked several questions. And they have all been answered with in a few days, and I am not even a customer yet, only in my dreams for now. hats off to you.

No problem. The exterior of the bed is coated in Rhino Lining. I don't know the exact weight of the bed, but we've guesstimated at ~7-750lbs? The bed has been perfect, no cracks or stress. The pivot at the rear is key to this. Even if it was rigid I doubt it would fail, Justin over built it! All 3/16 aluminum with a lot of 2x2 and some 2x4 box tubing. The coating is holding up good, only one small gash.

And thanks for the compliments, look forward to helping you out in the future!

Everyone that I have showed the pictrues of the seats in your van has turned green with envy, by far the best seat conversion I have seen.

With a bit of work you can make the Sienna tracks fit so you have huge moment (back and forth). With a lot of work you can make them electric and fit them in the front. I did them 3 years ago, best mod I ever made. Think the adapter that's been made since then is a great option if you don't need the seat travel.

Almost all of the bed is made from 5000 series aluminum. Mostly 5052. TIG welded with 4043 filler. -Justin

For those interested in the Sienna seats and the darker grey color works for you, Warehouse Salvage is buried in them and will likely take any reasonable offer. They are listed now at $630/pr.

Are there any leads out there for a bracket to convert the ford front seat bases to receive the Sienna's?

Fun continues at the shop. Prepping V5 for a trip, new wheels & tires along with some powder coating and some interior goodies. The goal with this rig is a comfortable family hauler so I swapped the mud terrains for some Toyo AT2's (35/12.50/17) and we swapped the muffler for a stock unit. It had a terrible drone @ 65. Feels better already!

We coated the rear bumper and added an Aluminess spare tire carrier.

And the front bumper with some black coating. We also added Dynatrac diff covers f&r.

The Tribeof5 ambo has been in the shop for a few days. We're not converting to 4wd yet so we've been installing some goodies for an upcoming road trip. Mag-Hytec transmission pan, DP Tuner and some gauges on the A-pillar. Justin @ HD-RV is building the interior right now.

Aluminess Spare Carrier

We coated the rear bumper and added an Aluminess spare tire carrier.

Maybe Chris or one of y'all know if there is another option for a van spare carrier. We have had terrible luck with our Aluminess unit with the pivots ovaling and wearing out, the spring latch mechanism failing, and the diagonal member that holds the tire shearing through twice. It's just holding a 33" XTerrain with an alloy wheel. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nope. Gonna stay with duals in the rear. Hauling to many people to convert to singles and maintain my comfort level. I can't wait to get the 4x4 conversion done later this call as well.

Has anyone towed a trailer behind an Ambo conversion? I be curious to know how well they do loaded and pulling a 5K trailer ,toy hauler or a boat.

We have Sienna seat mounts in stock! As everyone here already knows, MG Metal Works made these awesome seat mounts. I bought all he had and now I'll be building them here in NC. I have 2 pair in stock right now, our 1st UJ run will be done by the end of July.

Also, I'll be on vacation starting on the 4th, returning 7-15. So, I won't be posting much! I will be answering emails and providing tech support the whole time, so feel free to contact me that way.

I'm hoping to be able to pull a 28' enclosed trailer behind our ambo once it is all completed. My kids and myself will be very disappointed if it doesn't handle it. I am pretty sure it won't be a problem though.
