Chris, have you dealt with any cab and chassis E350s like Uhaul uses?I have found a few reasonably priced.I was think of something like V4ish type set up with a flat bed and large slide in camper.

Just V4 and the ambo's that we've done.

OK complete newbie question here but, what is the best but cheapest route to find the axles I will need for the conversion? I was reading the FAQ and like that I can at least get started by piecing it together and this seems like an appropriate place to start. This way I can clean them up and rebuild if necessary. Once I have axles am I correct in thinking that with the "kit" I can at least run in 2wd until I piece the rest together? I am determined to see this thing lifted!!

Check CL as well as car-part.com. That will point you to local recyclers that should have a complete F axle. And yes, you can do a partial conversion to get it up in the air. Axle, steering, brakes, shocks, etc. Everything but the tranny mods & t-case. Many guys do this to help spread the cost over time.

Moving along on the latest 7.3 van, axle is in and now its time to do the fun stuff. Brake lines, ABS, steering, etc. Ready to see this bad boy on 35's!
