How stable is this setup, at 75mph with a crosswind?

I love the look! Just making sure it works out for my needs. Be in touch soon.

Now admittedly I don't know you from Adam, but I'm having a hard time imagining any "needs" that would require driving a beast like the one in question at 75 mph in any kind of crosswinds that would be an issue. High cog, heavy weight, and 38"+ tires don't generally lend themselves very well to high speed driving, unless you never intend to turn the wheel.

That's not to say it can't be done, but from a safety standpoint it's not all that advisable. Any kind of emergency manuever, like avoiding the texting teen in front of you that just went tires up because he/she forgot to look back at the road after sending a msg to their bestie, would be an iffy proposition at best in any rig of those proportions.

I guess to finish making a short story long, from my experience (and looking at the rig in question), I would imagine it's about as stable as you can get considering what it is, but as far as any highway speed emergency manuevering goes... well, you rolls the dice n you takes your chances.

I've never felt unsafe in any of my rigs, one time in CA I was going up the 15 and the wind was BLASTING hard. So hard that a tractor trailer had pulled over and the wind blew it up on the right wheels right in front of me. Scary! I could feel the wind but Vanaconda was fine.

I'll second that. Once on the way to Mammoth I literally watched multiple billboards disintegrate and a semi hit the deck. It got so bad that when I got to the 395, the entire freeway was shut down. 15 miles of circuitous off roading got me around the CHP barricade and back on the 395. I was the only car for miles and the wind was insane. My van's a Salem Kroger, not a UJoint (unfortunately) but she did fine. Just keep both hands on the wheel.

Awesome! that stretch of I15 and over on I80 near Tahoe are actually the exact stretches of road I was thinking of when I asked the question =)
Feeling good

Well, dropped "Plan B" (Red '02 E350 RB from Okla.) off with Chris for a 2 week 4wd makeover. After dropping off the van, Chris drove us to Charlotte in V5, where we saw the NASCAR race Sat. night. Many thanks to Chris for going the extra mile to help us with our connections. V5 does indeed ride and handle great! Firm, but not harsh. Very controlled, no sway, dive, squat, tramlining, or headslap. In fact, you just forget you're riding in a lifted vehicle after a few minutes. V5 has a 6" lift. If I can figure out how to get pics out of my phone, I'll upload my pic of me and Chris in front of V5! Thx again Chris!

Nice campsite, no cell reception, no kids, not even the dog = a great weekend with good people in the woods!
