Those hold 17,670 pounds each, so one bolt ought to do it :D

Eight will hold 141,360 pounds, so you are good for a van with a bit of a safety factour

That might be what the paper says, but they'd have to prove it to me. I've had a 140,000# chunk of steel in my shop, so I know what that looks like, and I'd never trust it to a handful of 1/2" bolts, grade 8 or no.

It might be hard to believe, but 8 bolts about 1/2" diameter hold a CF6 turbofan engine onto a B767 Aircraft. Those engines can make up to 50,000lbs of thrust.

Its counter intuitive in many cases. But a properly loaded bolt has enormous strength, especially when you compare it to metal structures loaded in bending.

Normally hardware used for lifting has a very large safety factor built in. For example 1/2" wire rope can handle about 25,000lbs before breaking. When used for lifting applications a safety factor of 5 is recommended, so the max lifting weight is limited to about 2500lbs.

Bam, springs hit the floor so they went in immediately. Then the axle so we can measure for shafts!

One piece at a time, UJTeam van is coming together. Sent it back to have the wrap finalized, hope to have it back and on the lift early next week.

You talking about yourself?

***DROOOOOOL*** I have a soft-spot for short-buses. I got a feeling that I'll be building a LUNCHBOX 2.0 here one of these days...

Yea this thing is pretty sweet. Can't wait to make lunch runs in it all next week!

Chris, what are the interior plans for the Wonder breadbox?

Customer is doing it himself and plans to live out of it for a while. Plenty of room for a nice camper setup and this thing was light! under 7k stock.
