UJOR Build Thread

For the beaches in Texas you may not even need 4x4 for the most part. Some soft spots here and there. I do not bother with the pressures, 45 psi on 305/65/18 and LSD rear and open front. I haven‘t been south of Matagorda, maybe farther south the sand is less compacted, but around Houston you will see a lot of 2wd Trafffic.

Mostly Bolivar is where I’ll be going. When you go over High Island bridge, and the road turns right, there’s a pull off where you can go miles down the beach and it’s empty.

I’m sure you know where I’m talking about.

High top day!

Do you just bolt through the glass with a backing plate on the inside? Or do you need additional structural support built up inside as well? I'm assuming the top has wood bonded into the ceiling.

We have them glass in an entire 1/2" sheet to the roof. And 1x6 around the sides. Roof rack gets thru bolted and glued with plates on the inside.

For those of you interested in my Volvo build, here it is as of today! The engine/trans is final install after some chopping and hammer time for some of the tight areas. Happy with all of the clearances now! Time to plumb & wire it all up.
