Spring hangers anyone?!?!?

Our friend Jeremy stopped by today to drop off some parts (we're about to start his E450 Ambo build) and for us to crawl under his Quigley to test fit our fuel tank. No go unfortunately.... Quigley added a 4x4 tail housing as well as an additional spacer to re use the 2wd output shaft. So, we'll have to shorten our tank to make it fit. I get enough calls, so we'll make it happen.

Speaking of fuel tanks.... Here are a few FT002's ready for powder!

Brett's van is back from Morehead Design with its new high top! We have a few things to wrap up and this rig will be headed home next week.

We now have a front receiver option on our front bumpers. It uses the winch mounting pattern, simple and as low profile as possible. I'll have prices on the site later today. This is also a good view of our Anderson plug and OBA quick disconnect that comes with every bumper.

SwissVan is moving along! Spring hangers, springs & shock towers are in and ready for a Dana 60!

Speaking of fuell Tanks

Actually you cannot have enough fuel if you are out of civilisation. While the vans have their fuel tanks at the side in the middle of the frame, the ambos have a different place at the end cross member inside the frame.
E350 ambos are not different regarding the frame as far as I know, so the ambo tank should fit as am additional tank, disn't it?

Chris, are you going to be at the overland expo?

Nope, had to back out this year. Too much work at the shop, and with the new baby its hard to get away. There will be a few UJOR rigs there though!

The cab/chassis E series have a different rear frame section so it's not an easy swap. I also tried to fit a regular E series midship tank on a cab/chassis (V4) and it didn't fit. I would have had to remove the cross members and replace/make new ones.

CumminsVan got a Stage 2 D60 w/RSC today. It was a bit unbalanced w/o an engine or front axle! Now we can pick it back up and start some other projects.

For those that are following the engine swap, we're waiting for a ton of parts to come in. New injectors, engine accessories, transmission, etc. My next project is to replace all of the brake hard lines.

Love the progress on CopesCobra SMB Van

Chris, A special thank you for being so diligent and meticulous and having such high standards. I was concerned that my CopesCobra Van would have a lot of things overlooked that were not directly
part of the 4x4 Conversion or Cummins engine swap. I cannot tell you have good I feel that you are doing so much more than anticipated, even without my mentioning things along the way.

The whole family is excited about getting out and having some fun once it is all completed. As I have said before, you have a green light to do anything you come across that needs to be updated or
redone for any reason. We have 100% confidence in your judgement and of course incredible workmanship that all your builds share.

My motto is of course, when it doubt rip it out and put something better in regardless of if it costs me more than anticipated. I've never felt this comfortable just giving someone an open checkbook
to do the work. I guess the knowing that you spend my money like it was your own and do it wisely is what makes us comfortable.

When I 1st heard of the great work you were doing I decided to have you build the perfect Van for our use. As you know, we already had a SMB and since I cannot justify having 2 of them, we just
sold our original SMB. Needless to say, we cannot wait to fly out and drive it back to Los Angeles.

thanks Jeff

I agree with the above, however. Good builders will often times attract some real "tools" that just don't get it ... just saying.

Thanks Jeff! I hope you're prepared for the drooling when everyone hears that E series that sounds a bit different :)

^ Good builders bring in good clients. :)

Simple as that!

Can't say enough good things about Chris, the business, and 4x4 van community he has created...
