Taken enough time to where I’m at and have not even done final camper design etc. I’m Glad I purchased coloured cable ties etc for ease of re assembling hoses and the like! Got a few more things to put back on Mogone and then she will get a final spray touch up. The old 1986 beast doesn’t look too bad under the bonnet.

The roof rack has been modified a number of times for various reasons. the main reasons being:
1. Designed originally to fit the custom mog roof
2. Variation to accommodate wheel hoist
3. Variation for newly raised roof

The roof rack has been a painful journey to say the least however I will not list all the ins and outs as it has the potential to be a bit of a yawn........but I must add that the most simple and straight forward jobs can sometimes turn into a time consuming, needless issue due to piss poor planning (change of mind too many times).

I'm leaving our roof rack until I have the cab setup against the body and know it's not changing in any way, as I want it to tie in with the body lines somehow.

Very cool, I built mine also using a linear actuator, but my engineer said due to the "ADR rules" it has to be an over-centre design, so that it locks in the up or down position.

A linear actuator will hold position unless powered, but a pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder would not hold position and thus the step could open whilst driving. If took a few goes to get the mechanical bit to work, but it has operated for over 6 years now without any problems.

Hi all, been a while since I posted anything or even looked at anything on EP. Prior to COVID19 circuit breaker in Singapore I atleast was able to do a little and get Mogone delivered back to site so we can start using her at some stage. Mogone is now accumulating dust as we wait until we can resume works as per normal. Herewith some photo's

Now that Mogone is almost back together I have started planning the camper. She starts and purs like before. Managed to break the thread on the hydraulic housing where the filter screws onto. Got new housing. I have drafted my first copy of the frame using Fusion 360. Learnt it a week ago or so and slowly becoming easy to use and navigate.
I agree with Iain's past comments of watching weight. I created a spreadsheet which contains weights of all. The camper frame, components etc soon leave not too much room (kg's) to play. The list will become more accurate as I decide exactly what I am using.
1. As soon as the filter housing and new hydraulic hoses have been fitted I will put Mogone with bare tray over the weigh bridge to get an idea of the kerb weight. Both fuel tanks fill, I think each tank takes 175 litres each fill to the top, NOT 190 litre like I anticipated previously. I also have a spare 50Litre plastic army tank should I require? 3 spare wheels (can always take a spare away depending on how I track with kg's). Good thing that my wheels are 2 piece so save weight not having the inner part. One spare on the roof rack and 2 as shown in pdf.
2. Have got custom windows quoted so awaiting for specific weights as well. For now I have guestimated.
3. Slowly adding all that I require. I am going with a natures head toilet. I think a Webasto Water heater (24v) and Webasto cooker (have to step down to 12v which is irritating). See attached and if anyone has comments on these I would like to hear your thoughts. I will also have a Weber BabyQ high lid for BBQ. This will also be my oven but will access from outside area.
4. Many other things to make final decisions on.

So far my guestimation spreadsheet shows me that I have 440kg to play with before I go upto 7,500kg. No doubt at this stage I could be out by 300kg or more? As most of you will know, there is so much to think about when doing an own build and fitting it in around work is the biggest challenge! I am pretty confident that I will be doing a GVM upgrade just to have piece of mind.

If you are modelling in Fusion you can use it to calculate masses and loads. This is a really good way to back up your spreadsheet weight calcs. Here's my "hack" at ours:

We are running 24v starter and 12v box voltage. We have installed a Victron based system and use an Orion Buck-Boost to manage charging between the two.

I just installed an airhead - not used it yet. It was easier to get in the UK, I'm not sure there's much between the airhead and natures head.

We used Outbound windows. I am very happy with them, but being glass they are heavier than the seitz type.

Nice work Nathane, You are way ahead of me with the use of Fusion. The wheels are very realistic. Thought you had to have the access door on the left being in the UK or is that only Aus regs?
