Being an owner and loving the Syncro for a while now it was only a question of time before a friend of mine asked me to keep my eye out for a Syncro Camper for him. We found one cheap on ebay and I thought I would share with you how its gone so far as it was abit rough looking with the wrong roof on etc.

Its going to have an upgraded engine in soon (petrol to diesel) but this is how its gone so far and thought I might share it with you all,

Thanks for sharing. How long does this sort of restoration require, assuming that a commercial firm is hired to do it?

I'm thinking it might be relatively inexpensive to buy and refurbish a Syncro, compared to the cost of shipping a vehicle from USA to Europe for a summer's exploration.

It all depends on who and what you know. You could buy one and send it to http://www.syncro-nutz.com and get them to sort it, pick it up, tour Europe and sell it for loads of cash back home to finance your trip :)
