Warning Chime 2006 LR3

[SDLR3]

I tried searching but could not find anything. Periodically I will be driving and I will get a single warning chime. No lights or anything. Sometimes it happens after a few minutes sometimes 15+ minutes of driving. Reading the owners manual I was thinking that it might be the vehicle telling me that ride height has changed but I have not changed anything. Anyone know what might be going on?

Not sure if anything has been disabled. It just is a single chime and only does it once.

The most direct course of action would be to plug it in and check for faults. Do you have a good Land Rover shop nearby? Plugging in and pulling codes should practically be a courtesy to the Land Rover community.

One possibility: Is your overspeed warning set? I set it up when I first bought my '08, but it became too annoying.

Maybe your temperature warning? It dings once whenever the temp drops below 39F. Happens all the time in the winter because my LR3 stays in the warm garage and then dings after it's outside for a couple minutes. Not sure why this would trigger in the summer... maybe check the connection on the temp sensor behind the front bumper?

This happens on a fairly regular basis with my LR3 as well. I think it bings or bongs every time it records a fault and in my case, I'm pretty certain that most are the "Lost Communication faults". Every time I check the codes with my code reader, I find that some module or other has lost communication with the ECU. It's not a big deal, and doesn't happen frequently enough for me to spend a lot of time or money digging into the problem (don't think it would do any good anyway as it seems to be very common to LR3s), but it does get annoying.

That is good info. I don't have a fault tool but plan on buying a GAP tool in the next few months. I did check the overspeed warning and it was off.

Put it on the info screen, and take a look when it chines, could be something as silly as low washer fluid.
