What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

I made something similar for my Jeep over a year ago.. more for ventillation but works GREAT!! I used velcro to secure it to the inside of the door. In hindsight I should have used magnets. When I make some for the Land Cruiser I'll probably do that.20130522_174448-1.jpg20130522_192537.jpg20130522_192516.jpg

Almost cooked it to death:

Popped an upper hose on a 100* day towing a pop up trailer on a windy canyon road...

I need a V8 really bad-

Oh and I used reflective material to bind the edges... Yes they come with the Jeep. Lol and I also made custom sun shades co the door windows and the rear window, too.

Washed it and vacuumed it today. Tomorrow, oil and filter change, air filter and a SMOG test. Then I start in on dual batteries behind the seats with all the junk for solar and an inverter. Also want to build a set of drawers to slide out the back. :Wow1:

Installed a MORE engine transmission skid. Went pretty smooth. One thing I miss about my old tundra, now switching back and forth of metric to standard. It can drive a guy crazy.

This afternoon I picked up my TJ from Sunfire Off Road who installed a full set of the Metalcloak aluminum control arms. Dang! They're beefy and will certainly outlast me and the Jeep. What an improvement over the (mostly) stock control arms as the ride is excellent with the duroflex joints. (My TJ has a 3+" lift.)

Jeep bling porn...

Today I didn't do anything to it. The past 3 weeks it has been a mad dash to fix and upgrade before I head to Ouray and Moab. Alloy USA HD ball joints, outer axle seals, drilled/ slotted front rotors with ceramic pads, aluminum radiator, electric fan, new engine oil pan and Banks Monster exhaust. I am now working on painting up a set of junkyard half doors that I got for $200 with the upper frames. I scored a Kongo Roof Rack with a Safari basket for $400 ON eBAY that I am also getting ready to mount this week. I still have to make some brackets for my Jerry cans, HI-Lift jack, and cooler. Last but not least, hopefully some new ProComp Extreme ATs.676.jpg636.jpg677.jpg

The Liberty had been setting an intermittent P0304, but was running okay. My wife filled the tank last week and then it didn't want to start without some accelerator input. It coded P0304 again. Since there wasn't any banging or grinding, she drove it the 2 miles home. I did the typically check before tear apart stuff. Swap coils between cylinders, swap injectors between cylinders, no change. Pulled the valve covers yesterday and discovered one of the rockers had fallen off, also three of the injectors are missing their plastic tips. Since I'm already in the Jeep this far, I'm going to pull the heads to verify the plastic tips aren't gumming up the works somehow and have the heads cleaned and inspected. With over 250k miles on the engine already I'll replace anything that's advisable too. Hoping to get another 250k miles after this repair / service.

Last night, pulled out the RB1 Navigation radio as it had stopped reading the Nav discs. Disassembled and cleaned off the laser eye with Windex and a Q-Tip.

Reassembly required getting creative as you only have to take one screw out on the inside to access the laser, but that one screw holds together three parts that are under spring tension. That and gravity work against you. I was able to thread a long length of thread through a slit on both ends of the bottom piece and tape the thread to the housing. This allowed me to hold the bottom piece on, insert the middle one and finally position the top one. The screw went in easily, I wish I had taken pictures, but I didn't have quick access to my phone.

A quick, temporary reattach to the wiring harness showed that it was now working. Yay!

Final reinstall this evening if the weather holds out.
