What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

Our is that a wj? Lol

It's a WJ. I don't think it's required, but it certainly helped with some of the access and viewing. But it's all for naught now, I have no idea if it was like this or when it might of happened but after filling it up and running a few minutes spotted a good leak. The "neck" that the radiator cap is on somehow cracked.

I was supposed to leave Thursday for VT until Sunday and camp out in the Jeep, doesn't look like that's happening now.

I hate it when crap like that happens right before a trip! My condolences.

I had a radiator show up to the house once like that off the truck. But it was only the cap area. We were able to salvage it though. Very frustrating! That just means you have a little more time to do a little more work though!

All my lighting and Roof sold last night, Ordering a set of Pro Comp Rockwell wheels today for my Rig. I could not pass up the deal. over 250 dollars cheaper than any other wheels I looked at. If I don't like the black, I will powder coat them gunmetal. But we will try the black first.

Sending it back to Summit for a refund. Just don't feel comfortable patching a brand new part and don't want to be stuck with it if I can't return it "patched". I may actually try searching for the leak in the old one (mopar part) so for now it seems like the Jeep won't be going to VT this weekend. Not sure what I'm going to do because there's no money in the budget for lodging to go up there.

I wouldn't patch it either. At the time, it was a very needed thing to be able to drive it (daily) and the company we got it from was a eBay company. We didn't want to spend the time/money to ship it back for a replacement. Reliability is far more important for a rig that is used to travel like that.

Hoping the old radiator would hold isn't going to happen.

You could try to repair that, It looks like it is just the side tank. I was on Elephant Hill and scraped the radiator support on a small ledge, I made it 100' and my side tank blew open. Luck would have this was a problem for Cadillacs and a guy on the trail with me was a well versed Caddy tech. He took the tank off, added some sealant we had and with only channel locks crunched it back together. This trail repair lasted two years and popped a small hole on the second overheating (bad electric fan relay).

I'm debating on whether to attempt to fix or just get a replacement for the one I purchased already. Maybe both, keep one as a spare at home.

Regardless my trip continues to VT, albeit in a completely different vehicle. A lowered 2006 VW Rabbit (<- the couple years they called the Golf a Rabbit again) borrowed from a friend of mine. My Audi was suffering some issues of its own and I was going to limp it there but my friend offered his car.

So no dirt road exploring but i'm sure I can find some neat stuff off the paved roads too.

New 4" JBA Springs in the rear, shocks and stainless steel extended braided brake lines all the way around. The springs are making the 265x75x16's look small!
