What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

Haven't executed it yet, but I've been thinking about a design for my fridge slider/prep surface in my JKU. Due to the custom drawer system already installed and the onboard water tank I don't have enough room for an out of the box fridge slider. Plus it wouldn't be nearly as fun!

Today I finally got it figured out and drew it up in SketchUp. Total added height is only 3" and the table will end up a little wider than in the drawing @ 12.5"x52ish". I'm using 2x 26" 500lb Accuride 9308 locking sliders for the fridge, 2x 26" 150lb 3308 locking sliders for the first table top section and 2x 24" 3301 150lb non-locking sliders for the table top extension support. These 3301s will be turned horizontal, but should still support the <50lbs I would ever place on that section of the table. I decided to go ahead and encase the fridge in 1/4" birch ply so that I could stack stuff around and to help keep honest people honest if the tops off(Beer won't go missing). Plus my stove fits nicely between the fridge and the Jeep's top.

What's already back there:

Did you make that slider drawer yourself that is already in there? That looks great!

Thanks man, I did make the drawer system. If you follow the link in my signature to my build thread I have a lot of photos documenting it. I also redesigned the slide over the weekend using 14ga Aluminum with Stainless Steel Counter tops. I'm currently speaking with a couple metal fab shops who can bend the metal for me.

The trickiest part is connecting the Accuride 3307 sliders between the middle and end section. Due to having stacked sliders a nut and bolt won't work as the nut won't clear the slide (I don't think). I'll have to either hammer rivet or blind rivet this section and flatten the backside for clearance.

Rock lights. Completely useless of where I wheel... but I love them! Eventually want to wire them up to trigger off the door locks/interior lights, but for now just running them off a switch.

10 ORO's LiteSPOTs (2-6-2).

Just joined up here today, drove the Jeep into work with the rear windows all out, the rear uppers out. Ready for the ride home with the front uppers out as well. I'll doing this for to days before the cold comes back in.

Added some much needed support to my fridge slider design. Getting closer!

You couldn't just use heavier duty slides? I've thought about this for when I start into my pull out kitchen on my trailer, and while I may ultimately put something there, I'd rather start with bigger slides first and thus avoiding having to have a support post if at all possible.

Added an Avmap geosat 6 and configured to show other APRS stations haven't decided final mounting location yet.

It's already using big sliders, my concern is that it extends out around 74" and that is a long lever arm. This is cheap insurance and it was unused space

What if you made the support tie in to the bumper? Not sure if that would help/be enough but it would save having to adjust for uneven ground, vehicle flex and angle of vehicle while parked...?

As for mine... I had to put the drawers on hold while trying to finish stuff to get the jeep back on the road. Got the rear bumper built, installed, and painted. Also started working to get the light duty roof rack installed.

And whipped up a new battery hold down.

SEPTU: Nice lights!
When you are ready to have them triggered by the doors' opening, you might check the online installation instructions for AMP Research Power Steps. They identify the wire to tap for each of the four doors.

IIRC, in LH kick panel, solid blue is the driver's. In the RH loom: blue/white, RF; blue/gray, RR; blue/yellow, LR.

I took it out for a rallycross again on Sunday and discovered that my bumpstops hit the springs slightly up front and make some awful noises over big bumps. And I need to put a larger bolt in the front track bar on the axle side, as it can move a little if you whack it around hard enough.

I made a CB antenna mount to get the antenna above the roof, and still be able to use the Jeep with a soft top. It opens with the rear door. Picture after welding and after powdercoating and mounted to my JKU.
