What happened to Rangebrover's LC200 build?

Well, this thread has certainly become entertaining. Someone (more clever than most) just hacked Mr. Bro's account, even using IP cloning through Germany.

Somebody really pissed somebody else off. . .

Account now secure.

wow thats crazy! People need to get along and do some good in the world. (I better be careful I might be next to get compromised) I really didn't think these hackers attack us poor overlanders lol

Just here...
making a silverado do what a 200 can do reliably, would require redesigning the entire truck. its a good platform for moving fat people.

I am in no way taking his side but honestly, your comment is beyond stupid. Try and make a 200 series do what a Silverado does would require a complete redesign. It is a good platform for moving rich soccer moms. See what I did there? Hell, the Tundra cannot do what a Silverado can do and it WAS designed to do it. And since it is also a full size truck, I guess that it is also a good platform for moving fat people.

A better comparison would be a comparo between a Tahoe and the 200.

This thread just keeps getting better!

All of that is over now, thank you to the Expo Portal mods who got everything cleared up really quick.

So when are we all going to start selling our trucks and buying air cooled 911's for PCA events?

I've been commuting to & from Philly everyday in this 79' SC for a while...the R888's were exciting in the rain on the way in today.

Pete, how much to get one of those in respectable running condition? Surely my fiancée will let me take it out of the wedding budget!

mr smartiepants has spoken!

a silverado is designed to carry loads stably on road. the shocks hang down 3" below the axle tubes. the rear overhang is an aircraft carrier in length. narry a thought was given to off road in its design. mud construction sites are the worst its supposed to see. its a beast of burden with 4wd.

a Tahoe? take a silverado platform and make it really useless. as adaptable to trial riding as a range rover sport hse.

(you are forgiven. its obvious youve never driven a pickup off road)

edit. im sorry, i almost left out leaf springs... because, as we all know, there was no point in the evolution of SUV's to coils.

a 75yo buddy of mine ditched his m3 for a boxter.

im not too into track cars anymore, but it would take one hell of a 911 to get me to pick one over a boxster. ive driven a carrera s4, and that boxster really handles sweet. curiosity beckons, i'll have to look at what 45k gets in a boxster.

This thread somehow turned out better than the deleted thread. Best part is the brainiac trying to compare a Silverado and a Tahoe to a 200, mainly out of spite for being ridiculed for his above average pull of gravity.

P-cars definitely saved this thread.

If you slow down, read, and comprehend, nowhere did I say the Silverado was great off road. That is the other guy. What I did say, and I will reiterate, (and quote myself) "Try and make a 200 series do what a Silverado does would require a complete redesign. It is a good platform for moving rich soccer moms. See what I did there? Hell, the Tundra cannot do what a Silverado can do and it WAS designed to do it. You stated that a Silverado would need a complete redesign to be a 200 series competitor. Well, no ****. Any other obvious things you want to point out? Considering that they are not in the same class or with the same usage in mind. Your statement about only being good at hauling fat people around was stupid. The truck is designed to do many things and do it with more motor choices, better economy, better payload range, and better towing range than its closest non American competitor, the Tundra.

My statement was that if you insist on continuing the other guys stupid comparison, at least move it to something like a Tahoe vs. a 200 series since they have similar design, intended usage, and price. A pickup is not an SUV and an SUV is not a pickup. Only in a fine forum pissing match like the one between you and truck guy would that even begin to make sense. Do not keep running with that idiots stupid vendetta.

Also, it is Smarty (with a 'y', not an 'ie') Pants. Think of Pants like my middle name. There needs to be a space there.

One more thing, if I have a truck that is designed to carry loads, I would 100% want leaf springs. There is a reason why they are still used in heavy weight bearing applications. If I had an SUV, I would want coils. And Chevrolet agrees since the Tahoe and Suburban both use a linked rear suspension with coil springs.
