What is it about your truck that you like so much?

Man! Tough crowd here!! I won't post any pix of my truck clean and shiny!!

Did ya see the pic I posted? My truck is clean, in fact it's most always clean. I was just picking fun at Corey for posting the same pic all the time. You know what they say; if you can't make fun of other people, why keep them around?

Gotta have fun here or what's the use, right? :victory:

It's only a little over 2 years old, not paid off, and wouldn't get rid of it for most anything. It's a great ride on the pavement, but that's not where we like to drive it.

Along the Flint Trail in The Maze:

It has an aux. fuel tank that gives us a range of 400+ miles off pavement. Pretty hard to find anywhere in the US that one can travel off pavement that far without passing by a gas station. Though the Arizona Strip meets that criteria.

Love this rig.

I like that my 4Runner has a manual transmission, is very reliable (188k and no major problems) and is comfortable to drive.

I do not always take pics when I do go off road to explore either.
I am having so much fun it is hard to take the time to take pics.

Who cares? Besides, no matter what a Forum area is called, anyone can post a comment (negative or positive), including photos because the whole thing is public access. I don't much care for it because of what I've had to deal with, but it is the way the Forum is run.

1. At 130,XXX completely trustworthy; and the more I build it the more reliable it gets.
2. Takes me to great places to see awesome sites with pretty good friends; and then takes me back home.
3. Ergonomics - the thing just fits me like a glove. From sportscars, luxury sedans, station wagons, whatever -- of all the vehicles I've owned, although spartan in comparison, this is the most comfortable.

The T100 has many similar characteristics and the same engine as the 3rd gen Taco's & 4Runners, (which I think is Toyota's best 6 cylinder produced to date), with a little more room inside, a larger 24 gallon gas tank, 4.30 gears from the factory, great ground clearance and the best non-electric bucket seats in the business.

They're plain looking and aftermarket support is nil, but it fits me well and it's unique. I'm 90K miles short of my 250K mile goal for this truck....

Since everyones pretty much covered all my reasons already, I cheated and quoted everyone!

I will add- over KC's excellent V6- I love the 4.7 V8! (and the 26 gallon tank, and the seats and the 4 feet between the wheelwells in the bed!)
I also love the fact that it's Black...a no no color for expedition use, but when you put a good coat of wax on it the old girl looks dang good!
I also like it's a stock looking DD, granted I haven't gone wild with it but it goes where I need, when I need.

That's one sweet Tundra Mr. jim65wagon (whom I don't know at all), your truck is a symphony of classic style and practicial usefullness. But what's that bit of silver paint creeping up behind you. I bet that's one fine rig too.

Anyway...I'm beginning to love my truck. I wasn't sure about it when I got it, but cirumstances were such that the current truck that I loved had to go. But not without alot of angst. Yet the Tundra has proven itself over the last couple months both for work and exploring. Plus it's way more comfortable, gets better mileage, and has a superior drivetrain in that IForce V8 than the old truck. It's becoming more a part of the family each time we take it out to see the world.

Okay, I'll bite.

1. Paid for.
2. Goes anywhere I want, and still easy to drive to work on Monday.
3. Reliable.
4. 150,000 miles on the original clutch. Did I say reliable?
5. Lots of memories since '02.
6. Can carry anything I need to carry.
7. Looks mean enough to discourage road ragers and other highway weirdos.
8. Looks normal enough that my clients don't think I'm a weirdo.
9. Dogs love trucks.
10. Tons of fun to modify.
11. 20+ MPG
12. Comfortable to sleep in.

A lot of nice looking well equipped Toyotas here! :clapsmile I miss my '90 Hilux. Great trucks.

What I liked best about mine was it was a inexpensive and reliable vehicle to drive through my college years. Moved to Detroit to work for a domestic auto manufacturer after college in the late 90's so the yota had to go. My GM vehicles have been good to me too although I still have love for Toyotas.
