I am running cheapy Definity Dakota Mud Terrains right now. They work good but are wearing out way too fast. I am not sure I will get 30K out of them. I think I have determined that there is really no reason for me to run anything but an A/T tire from now on.

I voted other, as mine are the hybrid category... They're Dunlop MaxxTraction. Very happy with them so far, havent put a tread wrong. Great on wet pavement, and no complaints in the mud for such a heavy freaking truck. And the size is 315/74-16, and these are load range E... No comments on road noise, as I dont think I could hear swampers over the cummins:smiley_drive:

Sorry for the thumbnails, when I can figure out how to post full size pics on here, I will be happy... tried, they dont come up. so, click on them for full size pics if you want.

Running 33x12.50-15 Super Swamper LTB's on my trail beater:

(hate them every single second they are on the pavement but they are really shine on the rocks and float great out in the snow)

I also run some 31 inch Elderado HTR's on the DD Wrangler.......nothing special but they seem to be wearing great and the price was right for a college kid.

Have used BFG-AT's and find the sidewalls crack after too-short a time. They did have good wear. Several had blowouts or tread separation. Not good.
Currently using Mickey Thompson 375/55R-16's (33x15.50's) on 12" wide rims.
Much quieter than the former 33x14.50 Nitto Mud Grapplers I wore out.
Here's a comparo with a 285/75R-16 BFG AT with the above Mickey Thompson;

We had Cooper Discoverers LTs on the Dormobile when we got it. The spare was some cheap tire of the correct size, but it was the spare so who cared? We took it out on the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge and got a sidewall cut. Put the spare on, drove 3 miles and the spare went flat and came off the rim.

We had to walk 2 miles to get a cell phone signal and called a friend who had a Land Rover who drove down with two more wheels for us. As we were waiting for him, hunter after hunter stopped by in their trucks to check on us. Every single one of them of them had BFG ATs. The Border Patrol stopped by and told us we were "probably safe up here on top. If you were down in the wash I would be really concerned." He had BFG ATs.

So, when we got back to Tucson, we went and bought 5 new BFG ATs in the 235/85-R16 size. No complaints since, other than the fact that we don't feel comfortable visiting the beautiful Buenos Aires NWR any more.

Every Miles A Memory

After Michelins LTX's (Held up fine but they stunk in the snow), then moved to BFG A/T (Worked great expcept the sidewalls started to crack and tore apart after a hrd rock section in Arizona literally took huge chuncks of rubber from the sidewall, but never had a blow out), we went to the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors and they're the best tires we've ever had

10ply, E Rated, with Kevler sides for help with puncture resistance. Quiet as I've ever heard from a tire that isnt aggressive by any means, but does good in just about everything we've thrown at them from soft sand to snow to rocks.

We've just put over 55,000 miles on them and they're holding up great. Still quiet and have at least another 5,000 miles on them of normal wear

I think my next tires will just be the same model, just a bit narrower. Going to go from the 265/75/16 to the 245/85/16

Chase,
What? Regulator? You mean the red thing? No, we rent the tank. You must be in the biz.

Here is a pic of the super singles on the truck. They have a 4.5" back spacing which pushes the tire out farther, but not quite as far as duals. The rear fenders are 7" Jeep TJ aftermarket flairs cobbled up to fit on the Dodge.

Just checking to see what style of tires people are running on there expo trucks. Mud or A/T or ?

Mud. The last 6-7 years have been Mastercraft MT and I average 60-67K a set. I am now moving on to a beadlock wheel and should have the BFG Baja tire mounted soon. I have 5 BFG Baja just waiting on the recentered HMMWV wheels.

Goodyear Duratracs on the GX470

265-70-17. I would guess they fit in either the Mud or "other" categories. not too many miles on them yet, but so far so good.
