So on my trailer build I need two tables, they will cost me apx 180 to build.
my thought is why not use sand ladders or at least one, for one of the tables,
I like being able to dual purpose something.
Does any one know where i can get them the best price.
Looking for 16x60... Used will work also if you want to unload one.
Thanks

Ebay has some listed - $229 a pair for 12 x 48 inch but the guy does say he offers two sizes...

There is another listing with the 16 x 60 inch size but the are much more expensive at $259 each -

There also is the fiberglass grid type sand mats as well - but they wouldn't be as comfortable to sit on and tend to get chips in them.

I think this is an interesting topic. OJ did an article on this awhile back:

If you are going to be using for serious bridging the Mantec bridging ladder would be the most rigid... but also the most expensive. The ebay ones mentioned look like the Mantec sand tracks. It looks like you might start to get a bend in them if you used them alot for bridging.

For aluminum sand ladders try OK Offroad. Some of the mil surp yards occasionally have both aluminum and steel sand ladders/landing mats, but they are hard to find.

What are people's thoughts on using aluminum loading ramps? There are quite a few options here, many of which are a good bit cheaper than the Mantec...

That's what I've been using for years. I bought a real long aluminum one at a salvage metal place and cut it in half.
I use them on my car hauler and store them inside the van. The fancy ones would be nicer and lighter if that matters.

Look for a new bridging ladder to be debuted at the Overland Expo, from Crux Offroad. I'll have a preview on Overland Tech and Travel soon. It shows great promise and costs far less than the (excellent) Mantec.

Thanks for the preview of the Crux ladders. My new solution (which I have not tested yet), is a pair of aluminum 18x60 sand ladders augmented by four MaxTrax. My truck is about 8500 pounds and sinks fast in soft sand.

I talked with them at EXPO where they said they are working on a ladder for us big truck people. It would be nice to have some options in the solid sand ladder game.
