Has anyone ever thought about using a boat anchor?

Sure, I've heard of people doing that. I like the more compact stow of the Pull-Pal myself but yeah.

I'd like a pull pal myself but at around $300, a boat anchor may be cheaper.

Reminds me of an old Army trick. Three posts hammered into the ground and tied together. Good enough to pull a deuce and a half out. You could also bury your spare tire, or a log, using it as an anchor.
