Sounds like the vehicle was high centered in the snow. You have to get the packed snow out from underneath the vehicle (a lot of shoveling) in order to get the weight back on the tires. Only then the Maxtrax or any other similar product will be able to get the vehicle unstuck.
Day 4: Kairijoki – Kuusamo
After a good nights sleep we made breakfast in the cabins kitchen. Everyone was exited to get behind the wheel. We noticed the trucks were all muddy after the previous nights swamp episode. While the rest of us were cleaning the cabin Mikko cleaned out the glass on...
This is my first feeble attempt at a trip report so bear with me. I'm just doing my best to give back to the community that has allowed me to enjoy countless of awesome stories that have played a part in inspiring the trip below. Also note that my native language is Finnish, so the grammar is...
Got a good look when i enlarged the photo on PB. Thanks!

Cool Build! Can you post any close up shots of the hawse fairlead on the ARB-bumper? I have a similar setup and had to order an offset fairlead that will hopefully work with the bumper.
Given the choice i would definitely travel with a gun too. It's just a tool. The problem is that in most...

In defence of SPOT, i think the auto renewal policy is there partly to ensure continuous service for those individuals that travel longer periods of time without the possibility to renew their subscription.
The same would apply to someone forgetting to renew before leaving on a trip.
I'm running that exact size Toyo MT on my Hilux. Compared to the 265 GY MT/R's i ran previously these are much less noisier and offer similar or better grip on all surfaces.
I think an engine heater combined with electrically heated windshield (I know that Ford offers this as an option on their car lineup in this part of the world. Not sure of other manufacturers.) are a good way to keep the wipers defrosted.
