I ran the Eastern portion of the TAT in my stock '01 Wrangler. I turned the 4x4 on only a few times. If it wasn't wet, the Eastern portion could be done in a Hugo or VW bug. The Western portion is more rugged and has narrow places -- Perhaps too narrow in places for a big truck. John H

If this little Panda AWD (4X4) can run from Cape Town, South Africa to London in record time, it should be good enough to drive slowly from Central Florida to the tip of South America. That said, my local Fiat dealership says it is not available in the USA. For all but a few, poor gas mileage...

Interesting point. The 4BT burns anything AND I've seen youtube of one of their conversions driving around in Clearwater, Florida, BUT this doesn't mean their conversions can get registered and plated.

Unless you need the added torque, the higher cost of diesel fuel (in the USA) makes it a wash.
