    Roof light glare

I have 4 HID lights in the center of my roof rack and I solved the hood glare with a fold down cover. The cover protects and keeps the lights clean for use. Open for night travel Closed for daylight travel

Sorry for the late response. I used 1 1/4" tubing and polyurethane shackle bushings from an early Jeep CJ to make the arms. I welded a short piece of 1 1/2" tubing to the side of my center console which is made of 10 gage steel. I drilled 2 holes and welded 2 nuts to allow the vertical arm to be...

    Too Much Weight For Reliability?

My Jeepster weights 5800lb I weighed it to have Alcan make springs to handle the weight. I have had Dana 44's front and back for years. The front has worked great with little modification. The rear has been a different story. I started with a Dana 44 from 89 Jeep Grand Wagoneer and it seems the...

    Overlanding Checklist

It helps that the Jeep is a Jeepster with no back seat. The down side is my Jeepster is pushing 6000lbs. You are right it takes time to build a good list, I always have a note pad with me and add or delete items from my list after each trip.

    Overlanding Checklist

Great start for an Overlanding Checklist. It made me review my list and make some a few adjustments. My list seems long but I still use an old Jeep and carry enough equipment for up to 30 days of a solo Overlanding trip. Here is a link to my list: Tom’s Expedition Equipment List

    Leave behind trailer?

We do very little base camping so the trailer goes with us most of the time. Most trips we have a different place to spend the night planed. The few times we have left the trailer every thing can be locked and we have not had any problems.

    Basic Design Aspects of Trailer

Fuel and Propane Storage I have most items stored in lockable compartments. Including fuel and propane both compartments have expanded metal bottoms. Both areas do get a lot of dust having open bottoms but worth the extra clean up not to have an area for fumes to build up. Both fuel and...

    Who carries these?

I may have a little overkill but I carry parts in the jeep for short trips and more in the trailer for longer trips. The full list is here: Tom’s Expedition Equipment List Jeep: o Parts Box  ARB Air Line  Bearings (Timken SET 38, 387AS, 382A) Seal (Timken 415960)  Bearings (Timken SET 45...

    Maggolina on Trailer & Dust

We have had our Top Line Maggiolina mounted on 2 different trailers with many thousands of miles and get very little if any dust on the out side only. I drive crossed and around the Black Rock Desert several times a year the dust cloud behind the Jeep is so thick I can’t even see the trailer...

    Moab Jeep Jamboree

Having worked for JJ and actuality being the clear jeep on the Rubicon for a season. I don’t want to say that there is any thing wrong with Jeep vehicles I feel they are the most capable off-road production vehicles made. The clear jeep would leave before the participants and insure the trail...

Coleman Hot Water On Demand - Review

Great write up!! I like your bypass valve idea I am going to try to add one to my Zodi shower. I have kept the water in an open container in the shower and just dropped the head back in the container to let the pump run. Occasionally we would end up with soap in the rinse water.

Post your camping / gear lists!

I was just going over my list to share with our Search & Rescue team the equipment I carry in the Jeepster and the trailer for longer trips. The list seems long but I like to be prepared and drive an old Jeep so I carry a lot of parts and tools. I also want my wife to enjoy longer trips so we...

    trailer lighting options ?

LEDs I found these great LED at my local AutoZone they are thin, bright and only $20. I plan on using then in all compartments as I am rebuilding my trailer. The 1 foot strips can be cut to make multiple smaller LED strips. I have already used them in my Jeep. I have had several trips that ran...
