Wish I knew which pictures were on which trail as I have not been to either of them

This is something that I do not want to risk

:iagree: My truck needs to get me to work on Monday. From the pictures, I couldn't tell if there's a bypass for that section?

My truck is my daily driver. On Gold Mountain the uphill section is not bad and the Big rock garden at the top can be bypassed. The downhill on the back side of the mountain is not bad.

That is Deep Creek. At least that is what it used to be called. Used to be you could drive thru the crik crossin. Now there's a bloody bridge!

I had the 1 wheel drive Dune Buggy up & down that part. Going up was all about momentum & it was a BLAST!

There isn't a by-pass, but there are several lines with a large range of difficulty. A dead stock EB on 30" tires & a 170 ci Six has gone thru both ways. It wasn't easy, but he didn't tear things up either.
Knowing Matt he was probably trying something experimental & it bit him. He was likely trying the straight line from bottom right to top left of the pic.
In this pic:

the guy is standing in the easiest line. Drive thru the slot straight toward him from the photog's location, then hook it left around that far rock.

Oh, and look to see if there are still DB tracks over that far rock........

Yeah deep creek or 'dishpan springs' isnt that hard... but hard for a stock rig IMHO. If you're open diff you might have a tough time getting up and may have to be strapped. If you're coming down it you should be fine.

Yep, i remember when you could drive through the river too.... man i feel old at 29 yrs old. :bigbossHL:

Photo from last time i ran Deep Creek in my old XJ.. "i think" it's been so long! It may have been John Bull or the Rock Garden.,.. heck i dont know..

I'll have to second the Daily Driver thing. I cant risk that kinda of damage, at least until its paid off.

Socal,

Do you really need a rear locker to got up an of the sections of Gold Mtn. ??????

No locker needed. I've gone up twice in my 4Runner which has ATRAC/open diffs

I've run Dishpan/Deep Creek both ways in my Cruiser with no lockers. That obstacle where the EB is on its side has multiple lines to take. These pics are from last time I ran the trail backwards and picked a more difficult line. I was running perpendicular to the easy line.

Given the distance between the two locations (Gold Mtn & Deep Crk) can we run both if we get through Gold Mountain in a reasonable time?

Looks like a good combo!

It's been so long since I've run those I can't remember how long each took. Seems they were not long though..that'd be awesome if we could get in both. Will probably depend on trail traffic too...
Looking forward to meeting everyone.

It is the distance btwn them that will be an issue as well. There is no fast route from the end of Gold to the start of Deep.

Gonna be a blast!! It looks like there are a few lines to take, so we should be able to get everyone through with no damage. (or minimal) ;)
