PITA, eh?

Me ain't be known' much 'bout these Jeeps, BUT
Are these engines BORED or truly STROKED via crank and a different block?
How do you get around the smog issue? I would love more pulling power out of my TJ but as an 05 I'm concerned about getting around the Ca. smog details.

I've learned something recently in CA smog land. As long as it looks stock and runs clean, it will go through.
The stroker setup would be a good example of that. Its extremely hard to tell if its in there and as long as you've got a stock looking header and a cat on there I'd imagine you'd be ok.

What a good idea, put 2 reverse torx bolts in the most inaccessable location:elkgrin: I've felt your pain. I always replace those with hex heads when the motor goes back inWe ended up welding a wrench to the star bolt to get a good enough grip to break it free.
Did you compare the costs associated with the stroker vs going with a 350 or a Ford 302?
What about fuel economy comparisons?
THanks
