My Boomerang 1st Gen 4runner build

I said 5100, but meant 5125s on the bilsteins. The ride is much better than expected, much better than before, and even better than my 03' tundra. At this point, I am very pleased with the swap.

looks great. how far forward did you mount the hanger for the 63s? did you get any lift out of it?

The spring hanger was moved 11" forward. The springs netted 1.25" above the add-a-leaf that was in there.

I absolutely LOVE that color blue on the 1st gen!!! Great job!

I notice you got a CBI rear bumper. Is that the unit that comes in pieces and you weld it together yourself? If so, I'm kind of curious how good of a kit it is or how well it all fits together when you're assembling it?

Dang this 4runner looks good. I recently saw the pictures through my phone. Looks great seeing them full size.
Kinda making me lean towards a paint job and the CBI bumper...

I've got mixed feelings on the CBI bumper. I really like the protection pieces on the quarters. I also really like the pics of the complete setup on their site....however, there are no pictures on their site showing the bumper configuration you will actually receive. I am a visual guy and sometimes read too fast. When I purchased the bumper, I "assumed" I was purchasing a DIY kit with swing out like they had multiple pictures of, it's not, and they do not sell it in the configuration they have pictured. I consider that my fault, as it's on their website, I just didn't read it until after my order was processed . I never said anything to them about it, as it's not their fault I didn't comprehend that when I ordered. I do wish they had a pic of what you were purchasing however. Some of the parts needed adjustment, some were re-engineered, some had to be made, some were replaced, some extra pieces came with it that weren't in the install pics.

This was it before backing off the torsion bars.

Here are some updates. The front bumper, and swing-out are both getting close to completion. Rock sliders are reinstalled, I've added a Yaesu FT2900r Ham radio, with a Comet SBB-5 antenna and am in the middle of building a functional center console instead of that useless piece from the factory.

I'd guess 8 or so pounds to this point. It's probably going just barely heavier than factory, since I removed the rear blower motor and hot water lines for the rear heat.
