There was a U tube video of a VX cutting dougnuts, appeared to corner more like a sports car, fun to watch. If I could get my hands on that Pearl white, you can bet it will never be going down trails or rock climbing, some off road yes, nothing that would scratch that paint! :wings:

OP, Have fun with yours!

Yeah, my VX is a tad on the thrashed side from all the off roading I have done with it. I really need to have it repainted. Black shows EVERY little ding, dent, scratch and chip.

I have a bunch of VX videos posted on my YouTube: nfpgasmask

Yeah! That's exactly what it looked like. I tried to whip out my camera but I was carrying groceries.

Its not mine, that VX is Jo's from San Diego. I took that pic of him in Moab in 2008. This is mine!

I got the TOD info from several web sites including a small documentary deal on the VX. It was verbally confirmed by someone I know with connections at Isuzu.

I'm not debating your info, I'm debating whether the system works or not. :costumed-smiley-007 The reality is that it disengages power to the front wheels when you are turning. I realize the concept is that an idiot can drive into a parking garage without binding up the system, but turning is when you need traction the most. Changing lanes on a snowy road is pretty darn scary with the system. The difference in traction between TOD and the center diff locked is amazing. Replacing my TOD case with a standard case with Revolution gears is high on my mod list.

It's an everyman system. I've already stated my preference. One of the reassons I don't have a VX is I don't have the energy or the spare cash to swap to a 5 speed manual and a part time transfer case right now. I had a 2000 Trooper S with 5 speed and shift on the fly part time. Hit the button for 2hi-4hi and stop and lever for 4lo. It worked very well in the time I had it. Nice on roads with the occasional patch of snow or ice. No problem adding manual hubs as well. 3.5 with a 5speed is a whole lot of fun!

The trend in the automotive world for years has been away from educating the driver. They just try to make everything idiot proof. The more they do that the less involved in the driving process it makes the idiot. Bad for all road users. It just cracks me up when I read the debates on car sites about how manual transmissions are for cave men and are entirely obsolete. "If you want to shift just use the paddle shifters", "We used to ride on steam engines as well but times have changed" and ect. There is a reason I drive old iron. It can likely be fixed without much trouble miles from help. But then I'm a cave man!

Really? I drive my VX in the snow all the time, and it rocks. I don't know about the disengaging of the TOD when turning...it sure seems to work for me???? Just this moring, turning into my parking lot at work, slightly up hill, road covered in fresh ice and snow, my TOD kicked on and pulled me up the turn....
