1987 4Runner- Expedition Build Up.

Took me a while to find where I saved this link but here is a REAL slick center console build.

There are several threads on Pirate as well. Search Dash Switch and console in the Toy forum

Very nice indeed!

I wish I had seen that before I finished mine up... still need to get the vinyl to wrap it, going in a few to do that and will finish the truck up tonight.

Hey guys,

I'm looking to trade one or both of my motorcycles (Honda XR650L and XR400) for a FJ60 or 80 Cruiser.

So keep your eyes and ears out for it!

So, in my usual non scientific fashion I have built a center console that I am unhappy with... What I mean is that the console is too tall. I grab stuff that I think will work, and it would, but I dont draw things out I figure it out as I go. The console fits but is just too dang tall....

Maybe version 2 will actually include cup holders...

Doesnt look bad to me. I don't think your arm would get tired from being a little higher than your back would from it being too low. :D

I think if you just cut the top 3" off the top of the base and reformed the lid, you should be fine. No point in starting from scratch...

Noble idea, except the vinyl is glued I couldnt cut it down without tearing it up...

But, I'm going to mount it and go with it unless i just dont like it... in which case I can rip it out and put the original back in:)

Any chance you can cut from the bottom and just razor off the excess vinyl? The cut edge should be pretty well buried under the seats.
