Garmin GPS 12 - Still useful, or time to upgrade?

I'm not too much of a gadget type of guy, but I do find some things useful(HAM) and would like to know more about others(GPS). I've had a Garmin GPS 12 for several years now, and have used it all but a handful of times. Instead of going out and buying a new, top of the line unit, I'd like to...

Near the blue circle. From where you are facing, you go down to the left. There is even a little concrete pool to soak in.

    Primus EtaPower EF Stove

Well, I put the new stove to work over the long weekend. The family and I loaded up the Jeep on Tuesday afternoon, and started driving to Sierra Vista, AZ from PdR, CA. We stopped at a rest area about 30 miles east of Quartzite for dinner. Broke out the Primus, grabbed the home made chicken and...

    Fridge slide ideas

Dave, I posted my pics more as a reference than anything else. You can utilize your slides by using some angle iron with a 3" or bigger leg on it, and bolting your slides to it. To create a platform, invert the angle for the inner portion, and create some kind of cross pieces to support the...

Seasoning hard anodized aluminum - How to??

Understood. I had recalled a post where someone stated they had tried to "burn in" or "season" their hard anodized set and ended up ruining the finish. Then again that may have been a Ti set. Thanks for the info gents.

    Best Hot cocoa

Well.....the hot coco that I covet is the Cadbury packets that I found in SCO/UK. Made with milk, it is the best damn stuff ever. If I could only get my hands on some more of it here in the States.

Seasoning hard anodized aluminum - How to??

Hey all, I searched bit to see if there was anything covered previously, and although there are lots of opinions on which companies make good cookware, there isnt too much info on how to properly season non-cast iron items. I bought a new Primus EtaPower EF stove off of SAC last week, and the...

    Primus EtaPower EF Stove

SteepandCheap had a killer deal on these today; they seem like a good alternative to the Jetboils and such as they are adjustable, and capable of cooking more than water. Is anyone here using one? Thanks G

I'll take Potent Potables for $100 Alex.

The best Mead that we have found was in Modesto, CA at a lavender farm where they also kept bees. The brand is Beekman and Beekman, but I don't know if it is available on the open market. Chaucer's mead is not bad. There is also another brand that I have, but I washed the label off. I'll...

Peaty?...just a wee bit. Although the American versions taste a bit like Ronsinol lighter fluid, I have found that a good mead is a nice treat at the end of the day. I prefer Moniack Farms, near Beauly, but any decent mead will usually suffice.

    ARB slide lock install

There should have also been four metal tabs. The metal tabs go under the handle, and you use the screws to replace the stock ones(the new ones are longer to account for the added thickness of the tabs). Are you talking this: Or this:
