Does the rack use the 1A towers? If it does, you can make a low profile fram out of say, 3/4" square tubing and some plate. A rack like this will only sit about 1/2" above the factory roof rails.

Is the Punchbowl as dangerous and difficult as I have read? Or just a bunch of hoopla?

V8 I take it? The rad filler neck is in the opposite location on the 4.0L.

Check your build date on your door. Mine is 11/00 for a 2001 WJ and I have the 0331 head, and subsequent crack from it.
