I'm willing to be the guinea pig, but we've only had the flippac for a couple months. Want to use it , and like it, before the tent upgrade. But I'm guessing that will come pretty quick if I have my way!
Looking at the flipback I think that much mesh could be awesome.

Very little work on the truck recently, but I did replace the screens in the topper. No progress pictures, but it's just like the screen on the door of the house. Layout the screen and push in the plastic rope.
On a more fun note, some family is in town, and we made it out of town for a...
That is in a shirt. It was the east to west Land Rover trip to the National Rallye a few years ago. E2W

Inspection Passed!
Passed inspection yesterday. Yay. Most Toyota people probably don't get this feeling of relief, but my last Toyota was a 1970/71/74 FJ40 and my other truck is an 81 Range Rover, so passing safety and emissions first time is still way new to me. :D
Have a couple baseline...
This is on my short list. My new-to-me flip-pac has a broken torsion bar and came with a new one from sway-a-way. What did you mean by vertically squeeze the lid and the overhang together? My plan was to do the passenger side then prop the top against the car port in a vertical position and...
Martyn,
I guess my sarcasm didn't come through. I understood the example. Good luck with the habitat, as usual, it's a good looking product from you guys.

I have a new to me flip-pac that needs mesh repair. An upgrade would be nice. What's your timeline Martyn? [emoji87]

Thanks. As I get older I really only want to do things once. [emoji3]
First time using a Deutsch connector, went together pretty well once I figured out that the male housing used the female terminals and vice versa.
I got the compression terminals as I figured they would provide a better...
New 1st gen tundra DC owner. 6'4" 240lbs. I fit in the back seat behind the driver when set for me. Very comfortable. It's thirsty, but comfortable on and off road.
Just about perfect size and power.

Yes the space was a big part of the draw for us. We plan to have our toddler sleep in a crib in the truck bed.
One of the jobs i had to do was add a marker/brake light to the flip-pac to pass Utah inspection. I could have removed the flip-pac, and passed but a 3rd light seemed like a good...
Realize this is a bit of a revival, but there you go. Just purchased a 1st gen double cab for family adventures. Great looking truck! I am interested in keeping the auto off headlights with the factory fog switch. The links to the pictures in this post are dead (for me anyway) do you have...
Speaking of adventuremobile, took it out this weekend for a quick overnight. Headed out to the Silver Island Mountains near the Salt Flats. Truck performed pretty well, a little lack of front handling under fast compression., but overall I was very happy.
I love the salt flats in the winter...
The flip-pac made the trip to truckee worth it. Trying to use it a little before making any major purchases. Coming from the Land Rover world, I have no baseline of performance. I also have a S. Utah toy, this is the family adventure mobile.
Back from my work trip.
There were a few small packages waiting for me. I had a chance to get a couple o the little things done. Fixed the loose door handle, program 2 new key fobs, and replace the headlights. They definitely needed it.
The rear light for the flippac came in, but haven't...
