Well, I don't see one like it on their website anymore. It would have been from year 2004. There are a few SMB's running around with this bumper. The new E series bumper they have listed sits lower on the van and doesn't look quite as conforming IMO.
It's a Trailready bumper for an F series Superduty. The bumper is a direct bolt on once you notch the areas where the front spring hangers are. The only possible drawback is that it is steel, not aluminum so it's fairly heavy.
The vents are curved a bit but are flexible enough that they conform to the shape of the fender. The vents are 16"long and 6" high at the tallest point.
Thanks,
The functional vents are from an 80's era Arctic Cat snowmobile and I got them on ebay. I ended up getting the same ones as Badgertrek from the SMB forum. They do a great job of letting heat out, especially when traveling slow off pavement. When the engine fan kicks on it's uncomfortable...
My wife just purchased a new 2012 Kia Sportage AWD with the turbo. Although not an "off road" vehicle I wouldn't hesitate to taken off of the beaten path a bit and have some fun. The new Sportage is totally redesigned, very big difference over the old ones. I'm impressed with the quality of it...
Not sure about specifics on the slide in campers but the SMB van has the following at or beneath the frame rails:
Propane tank
Starting batteries (2)
Marine house battery (130 lbs.)
Underfloor storage that includes all tools, spare parts and jack
At floor level are the furnace, water heater...
^^Good stuff! LOL!
FWIW, I have an 04' E series with the 6.0L and haven't had any problems.
