3 butts = 600 lbs plus impact of sitting down. I posted pics of my tailgate in my build thread. Mine still managed to bend so I would use thicker material if doing again. In another build thread, they welded a piece of pipe to the side of the tailgate to hold the pins. That is a good...
I assume the dent you are referring to is on the side of the top rail?
I saw it in the pics from the auction link. Every trailer I have gotten from hood has had that dent. Must be how they move them around.
Thank you. Some are just from an iphone. I have played around with a few 1102s so I am looking forward to your build.
Hopefully I will be updating the build soon. I have three 101A3 trailers in the yard right now am gearing up to start my rebuild/phase 2. Having spent some time with the...
I actually like the surges brakes on the newer 1101/1102 trailers and since your are new, they should be in good working order.
By the time you get the trailer loaded you will appreciate the brakes, especially while driving on the road.
What is the tow cap of the new 4 Runner?
Even though the...
You really tore them apart. Was it hard to get the drum off. There are brake adjustment wheels you can access through a rubber grommet on the backing plates.
The tires and surge brake are heavy. From my online research, a hub swap is not possible without changing the axle.
Pretty good info in post 3

Just order brake backing plates with park levers and you...
With that tow rig, I would opt for the mil 1101/1102 versions and pay a fab shop to make the rack. The 12v swap is super easy. Bulbs and plug is all, you can use existing wiring on trailer.
I have three:
Webber Smokey Joe, Lodge Dutch Oven, and AeroPress.
Just stumbled across this section. Good info here. I have been spending most time in the trailer section but the trailer is mostly used as a chuck wagon so I will be checking in here more.
Correct. I did not go that route but would if doing an axle swap to include electric brakes, I would get backing plates that have a parking brake lever then just connect the military parking brake cable to it.
I fixed my post. Typos probably made it a bit confusing. :)
If you are going to do the tongue mods, make to extend it a bit. I wish I extended mine.
If you do electric brakes on the new axle, don't forget to get backing plates with park levers.
