Changed a few things and added a few. Decided to hold off on the chain tray until I complete a landing gear swap.
Added a 2" receiver to each rear corner.

Ran one bead to underside of bed for added support. Should be easy to grind if needed.

You could just bolt some angle iron to top rail of bed then weld to that.
If you want the uprights in each corner, you could have a plate cut and drilled to match the nut pattern then weld your rack to that.
I pretty much did the same at TexasTT with mine. Smaller wheels and tires, plate, convert to standard 7 pin/12V.
May do an electric brake swap and attach a channel coupler mount to the tongue at some point.
These would make a great base for a build if you have a lifted tow vehicle. I really...
Nice build. They do tend to multiply. I may or may not have three of them in my driveway as I type :)
For your new one, I would just swap the axle for one with a shorter hub face or keep your eye out for a take off.
People pay top dollar for those trailers with tops. Last few from there with tops went for close to $4k. It is funny how the top parts of these trailers often cost more than the trailer itself. I have decided to roll my own tops and for mil trailers.
Finished/started a few more things.
Roof came out ok and will serve its purpose of a observation platform/support for tarp/cargo/future RTT etc but I would do a few things different next time. I ran the expanded metal the wrong way.... I would probably just use 1/8 plate in the future. The...
I looked for 1.5 x 2" tube and channel. Could not readily find either. You cant just stick a piece of 1.5x2 tube in the pocket anyways. There are some spring clips spot welded on the inside of the pocket. A common issued is people jamming wood down the pocket and not being able to get it out.
I think 1101/1102 are fine behind most vehicles larger than a small jeep. The OP did specify his tow vehicle and I think it will be fine. As noted, most builds are bolt on/wheel change stuff. As long as you are fine with the size and height they would make a fine platform to build on. If my...
I am starting to realize that if you spend to much time planning how to do something right you may never end up doing it.
New theory is to do more and plan less. Things don't always come out perfect and I can usually list a few things I would have liked to do differently before I am even...
I always thought the data plate was the only difference between an 1101 and 1102. If you are planning to run electric brakes/modify the tongue, I would double and triple check that you can get the correct hubs and backing plates.
