Expedition Overland Show & HAM Radios...and Business USe

Totally agree and I will add this kind of behavior is a complete turn off to me to getting in to HAM.

    Which 3500lb axle for a M101A1

1 inch spacer isn't going to cut it. From everything I have seen, you need a minimum of 1.75" for a hubcentric wheel to clear the Dexter hub and that will still will require massaging of the dust cap. 2" inch wheel spacers solve that issue, which is why I used them when building my trailer.

    Which 3500lb axle for a M101A1

Another thing to consider is the backspacing of the wheels you will be running as of course not all JK wheels have the same backspacing. This has to be factored in to the overall length of the axle, spacers, etc., for your wheels to end up positioned where you want them. I worry when I see...

Dstock's M101A1 build... or the reality, I needed a new project!

No problem, my pleasure. Without all the help from this forum, I wouldn't even have begun to think about building a trailer. Happy to pay it back! Look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Dstock's M101A1 build... or the reality, I needed a new project!

Measurement for you: floor to bed rail is 18" Bed rail to rack(lowered position) is 10.5" Total lowered = 28.5 Since I can't raise my rack fully without pulling out of the garage I had to calculate the rest for you. My linear actuators have a 16" stroke, so if you add 16" to the 28.5" you...

    Which 3500lb axle for a M101A1

I went with 3" inch 3500lb because I wanted to reuse the shock mounts from the original axle. I just cut them off the old axle and they bolted right up to the new one with the u-bolts for the leaf springs. Also, keep in mind if you want to use JK hub centric wheels, you will need to factor in...

Dstock's M101A1 build... or the reality, I needed a new project!

Thanks! Keep in mind I hadn't fabbed much of anything prior to this build so you might be surprised what you can accomplish. I can measure at least the rack down clearance this weekend, I will do it from the bed rail as the Diamondback cover decreases that distance 3-4 inches. I should be...

Recommend a brake controller for a JKU?!

I went with the Mopar harness specific for the JK. It comes with good directions and plugs right in. I can find a link later. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

    Midland MXT100 GMRS Mini Review

Nice review. I stumbled across this radio a few weeks ago and it definitely caught my interest as it seems all we use on trails or road trips anymore are the GMRS handhelds. Did a road trip from LA to Denver and there was very little chatter on the CB, and when there was, it had zero to do...

    yellowtop optima not holding charge?

Not sure if you park in the sun, but some on-board solar might mitigate the short commute, and keep your batteries topped off.

    yellowtop optima not holding charge?

Wrong x2 both Diehard Platinums failed. And based on the pallet full I saw at Sears, I will happily take my chances with Optima.

    yellowtop optima not holding charge?

There are much smarter folks on here than I where this stuff is concerned...but 11.4 is a deeply discharged battery. I'm not clear on how many times you have reached 11.4?
