Sway control comes with the tow package on the JK but I believe I read somewhere that 2013-on it comes standard regardless of whether or not you have the tow package.
Sounds like you do have something going on in your front end. Always a pain tracking that stuff down, BTDT!! Good luck!
I have a small drain hole in the bottom of my outer tubes in case water gets inside but have yet to have any issues with dirt, etc., binding the rack. I wipe the inner tubes down every so often, and spray a little TriFlow in the outer tubes to keep things lubricated.
Nice! Thanks for the info! I hear you on the suspension, hate it when an upgrade turns into a downgrade!
As much as I'd like to go with the a tablet solution, in the Jeep direct sun when the roof is open/off makes it pretty much impossible to see, whereas with a dedicated device like one of...
I'm curious how well their marine products work for trail duty, since this one is listed as a fish finder/chart plotter? Of course I love the idea of it working in multiple environments.
A couple minor additions
I've been pretty swamped with life as of late so I haven't really done much on the trailer. Finally this past weekend I was able to get a couple things done, one functional, one aesthetic.
First the aesthetic, since so many people ask, I thought I'd help them with a...
I hear you, the brain spins with ideas on these things. After a couple uses, you will get even more ideas!
We use the tailgate as our "Kitchen", I'm actually about to add a wood surface to it to make it more user friendly as my tailgate is a bit beat up. It makes for a nice kitchen area as...
I went the same route leaving enough room for the JK tailgate to clear the tongue box and the brake-away battery on the front. A pic from early in my build:
Hang on to those parking brakes as they can be made to work with Dexter parking brakes with a little ingenuity. Mine were trashed and...
Just a suggestion, why not just go with a 2 inch spacer and avoid having to open up the rim center? If you are going to use one spare for all then you will have to open up the spare rim as well. Also, if you go with ez-lube hubs you only need to fit the tip of a grease gun through to lube the...
I was in the exact same boat, when you see one for the right price, gotta go for it!
It's great fun, I refer to mine as a "work in progress" as I am constantly coming up with refinements, additions etc. Enjoy!
The Motorolas work a little differently then the Midland radios where the privacy tones are concerned, CTCSS 1-38 are the same on both radios so as long as you stay on those you should be good.
Interesting video for more info:
I'm not sure if I am going to weld them or bolt them but looking at doing the same on my trailer. For sure the tank is going under the bed, I don't want to give up the bed space.
Cool! 2" inch is the safest, a couple folks with 1.75" had to do some beating on their dust caps to make it work. I went with 2 inch from Adaptit USA, great folks to work with!
Nice build so far! Just remember when you go to order the axle, the center hole on the wheel is going to be too small to fit over standard axle hubs. A 2 inch spacer will give you enough clearance but you need to factor that into your total axle length.
I will also add that in a previous Wrangler I had it in the center console and having to open it every time to adjust volume or squelch sucked. My next full size will just mount off the passenger side of the center console.
Not MURS but I recently picked up Baofeng's entry into GMRS FCC compliant radios, the Baofeng GMRS-V1 on Amazon during a flash sale for $43 to play around with a bit. I wanted a GMRS solution that I could use an external antenna with along with a battery eliminator and that is repeater capable...
