LR4 Battery Charging Profile... Measured with IID... really this bad?

So, that graph. 1. startup sees only 14v.. not 14.7v. 2. amps get to 20... so alternator did something. 3. amps dips after rpm goes down but then comes back up.. so alternator still putting out something? but compared to my last graph a lot lower amps. 4. today throttle blips don't impact amps...

LR4 Battery Charging Profile... Measured with IID... really this bad?

More data. Engine off, ignition on. Startup, high idle, then you see engine revs come down.. then I rev the engine twice. It doesn't look to even get to 14.7v... so could the new alternator just be bad also?

LR4 Battery Charging Profile... Measured with IID... really this bad?

What is strange though is that on starup it does get to 14.7v for a while, then definitely to 13.2v or so... then it decides to back off to 12.2 or battery voltage. That makes it seem like it is the PWM control deciding to turn it off. I have also had it work perfectly during two different...

LR4 Battery Charging Profile... Measured with IID... really this bad?

I am seeing some similar issues with my 2013 LR4. I have a traxide kit and IID tool. I jump started someone and since then I noticed my voltage (I have a national luna battery monitor in the cab) was low.. 12.2v when engine running. I ended up replacing my alternator, but I see the same...

BFG KO2 pressure for snow and ice

Well true, I was thinking straight line stopping. If you need to turn then yes, the tires have to roll more and what you suggest makes sense.

BFG KO2 pressure for snow and ice

KO2 is not a snow tire, winter rated is not the same thing as an actual snow tire. I do think the sipping on the KO2 is pretty decent, better than a lot of options. I am sure it works ok in snow, but the rubber compound and tread is nowhere near as ideal for snow and especially ice as the...

BFG KO2 pressure for snow and ice

If you don't have ABS, sure pumping might be ok, but smooth easy braking is probably better advise. In emergency braking, laying on the brakes and letting ABS do the work is probably better than manual pumping. Especially modern 4 wheel ABS. It *is* pumping, and a lot faster than you could do...

BFG KO2 pressure for snow and ice

It's slick out there folks, take it easy. Remember how much land rovers weigh and slow down. (image is tonight in a 2013 LR4, snow mode with blizzaks DM-V2 and HD pack)

New MANTEC Product for Discovery/LR 3/4 - Overhead Storage

I plan on ordering a mantec. It seems like they are coming out with a second version that works with the factory cargo barrier. (They seem to call it a dog guard.. but i thought that was the left/right split option you add on).

New MANTEC Product for Discovery/LR 3/4 - Overhead Storage

I like it. I keep bungees across those handles now with a lot of the paper products we use, TP/paper towels, etc. This shelf would be more useful. I already have the cargo barrier installed, so it would match well with that. Curious what the pricing is.. the dollar/pound is in our favor at...

    LR3 sliding loadspace floor

What size ARB fridge did you go with? I have my seat out already and already have tie downs for a fridge, but I am worried I need a larger fridge than will fit there. Thoughts? Big enough?

    Lr4 roof racks

I never notice much noise from my low profile voyager rack with a wind fairing. I think it does a good job. The polymax flooring does help a bit. I'm sure people are probably sick of me posting pictures of it.. ha!

    Auxiliary Lighting

Low profile voyager rack with the fiberglass fairing from voyager, yes... I attached the fairing using some hose/pipe brackets and some big washers/bolts. The LED bar I used mounted to the two light mount tabs with some right angle brackets. Its a tight fit, but it is solid. In the pictures...

    Auxiliary Lighting

I agree that having LED bars can have downsides. I have cheap ones and the light doesn't push out as far as the nicer big halogens with good reflectors. I have a single row ~36" 108 watt bar wedged between my wind fairing and roof such that light does not spill onto the hood. That makes it...

The DiscoDavis Discovery 3 Build Thread

I decided not to cut out areas for those mounts. I think the flooring is more than strong enough. (Guess we will see). I do plan on adding some more secure mounting for the flooring around that area since the flooring now carries some lateral dynamic load. I did however mount my EO2 mounts to...

My Quest to Add a Long Range Fuel Tank To My LR4 Begins

What changes, if any, do you need to run gas rather than the diesel it mentions on that page?

True, but in my case I just tow my 7k pound boat+trailer on good roads. No offroading with the boat. :D I don't have the bumper yet, but its on my mod list.

The DiscoDavis Discovery 3 Build Thread

Just spent a little time on one of the jerry mounts. Found a solution that I think will work pretty well. I used some hose clamps with rubber covers and some bolts with lock nuts. (Found it strange that the ones that came from frontrunner where not lock nuts, just regular type).

The DiscoDavis Discovery 3 Build Thread

Do you guys with the polymax flooring have any advice on attaching some front runner jerry can holders? I have two of those that I want to install. I still need mounts for maxtracks on the front of my rack also. I am going to put some quick fist clamps on one side for my huge tent pole bag...
