Thoughts on winch bumpers for a Discovery 2?

I'll admit an ARB can be made decent, it just takes a lot of work, and the type of person willing to do it, which it seems OP is.

Bear Grylls is new LR global ambassador

Even if his Gerber branded stuff is cheesy, his accomplishments are still impressive, and it's a step in the right direction.

New Great Divide Expedition Range Rover!?

I completely agree. I also agree that like the dinosaurs, Camel Trophy had its time. However I believe they can still accomplish something, and that's skilled story telling. In CT we witnessed the hard work that went into preparation, saw things break, things fixed, how they camped, how they...

New Great Divide Expedition Range Rover!?

Land Rover's recent expeditions are technically impressive. However, I find them uninspiring. Previous decade's expeditions told a drama of hard work, perseverance, and triumph. Man and machine striving to reach an experience by braving hardship, testing their limits, and the limits of their...

Thoughts on winch bumpers for a Discovery 2?

    Lucky8’s Project Discovery 3

It's all very debatable. I bet the D1/2 would be close, as the D3/4 would be, since they share platforms. D1 has less rear overhang and more upgrades available vs D2 so I bet it'd have the edge. D4 has an improved traction control system which might give it the edge vs D3.

Solving the gas Crisis - 95 Discovery I

Let me guess, the extensions were for the driver side bell housing bolts. I had to do the same thing. When the bolt finally let go, the dozen extensions exploded flying all over the shop. Hope you had fun disconnecting the forward O2 sensors too. Whoever placed the connectors between the bell...

Beautiful photo Scott. Reminds me of the white Discoveries used in Fiennes' 1991 expedition to find the lost city of Ubar.

Post pictures of your Land Rover.

Off-roading a Rover in Hawaii is one of my dreams. You're a lucky guy. I was surprised by the great trail systems on Kauai, but the Malibu wasn't cutting it.
