Even with dedicated tools, it's still not fun. It was my least favorite part of getting the RTT on and off the Gobi rack and took the most time. Yes, one can live without the accessory bars but it is much easier with them.

If you are not going to mount the RTT permanently, I highly recommend getting the Gobi accessory bars and mount the RTT to those instead of directly to the Gobi. Your wrists and knuckles will thank you. Getting between the roof and the rack to turn a wrench IMHO sucks. I did not find the...
