The Blue Sea has been rock solid so far, very pleased with it. It's a very straight forward set up, and having the mechanical switch on the unit and the remote on the center console is great. The 2 LED's on the remote switch let you know when the batteries are connected or separated, and blink...
Once I got them mounted up they seem to work fine, I'm okay with them being a bit stiff, don't want them flying off on a rough road, too expensive to lose!!
Thanks.
I think you made a good choice, helps take alot of the guesswork out. I got my actuators direct from Windynation which was cheaper than ebay, and really fast shipping. Get the brackets that go with them, you may even be able to weld the brackets directly to the support legs. Well worth the...
I just purchased a set off Maxtrax Mounting pins so I can mout the Maxtrax on my expo trailer. This may seems like a moronic question, but here it goes! I can see how the pins rotate and lock but it seems the only way to do this is to slightly loosen the allen bolt at the top of the pin...
I went with 1 1/2" telescopic tubing for the outer legs and 1 1/4" telescopic tubing for the inner. My rack is made from 1 1/4" square tubing. If it were me, not knowing exactly what your rack looks like, I would get telescopic tubing for both inner and outer legs and cut off the square tube...
Try disconnecting the black wire for the solenoid and see if it resets. There is a fuse in the Intelligent Solenoid, its possible that has blown. Paul May at Equipt can help you out if you can't figure it out. I would put a voltmeter on the aux battery and see what kind of voltage you there...
Free is always good, totally understand!!!
However....even for just one full day and night when the temps are in the 90's, that panel is not going to keep up with a fridge and more than likely you will hit the low voltage cut off on the fridge. As you said though, you got a good solar...
Not to be a downer but that's not going to be enough for multiple days in one place in high ambient temperatures. You will likely only get 2/3 of the rated wattage of the panel even in the best conditions and it's amps you need, not voltage, the morningstar is going to limit the voltage so you...
I went with an Olympian, which has both legs and comes with a bracket to hang off the side of my trailer like so:
They also make a nice travel bag. I got mine from Amazon...
+1 on the regular bulk propane adapter. I use one with my Coleman and I find the bulk tank also seems to give more sensitive adjustability to the burner output.
Very cool. I'm getting ready to do some sort of lid for my M101A1, was planning a similar rear opening lid in the back and then 2 side opening lids in the front.
Once you start modifying things, it's a slippery slope!! Have fun!
Thanks!
In the spirit of over-engineering, I will mostly likely go the weld route with the WindyNation brackets at some point, just going to keep my eye on it for now. Fortunately I am able to lock mine down at rest with the original pull pins, so hopefully that will mitigate any travel...
