Goal Zero 400 or Ark Pak 730

When ambient temps hit the 80's and up, you will run into issues if you don't have some solar backup to keep the yeti charged up, minimum 100 watt panel.

Dstock's M101A1 build... or the reality, I needed a new project!

Thanks! Here's the shopping list for the LED lights et al: I went with a warm white for all the lighting. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JQV6S96?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00 I had enough to do both cross members of the rack and the center hoop in the RTT. You will need...

    Dead battery issues

One of my less than 3 year old Diehard Platinum 34/78 died last week, it was my starting battery and was never deeply discharged. After the first year and half they stopped holding the 12.7 resting rate and dropped down 12.3 overnight. I did the Odyssey recovery procedure last spring and...

    Odyssey vs. Diehard Platinum

Just to update my Diehard Platinum issues... 1 of my 2 Diehard Platinums died over the holidays. It's less than 3 years old. Came out one morning and it was dead the day after a 100 mile trip. It's my starting battery and has never been deeply discharged. I went through the Odyssey recovery...

Dstock's M101A1 build... or the reality, I needed a new project!

New Year - new trailer additions So over the holidays, despite being plagued with some holiday cold that won't go away, I made a couple additions to the trailer. After seeing the success of others (Shack) in adding electric linear actuators to their racks, I decided to do the same and ordered...

M101A2, Another home on wheels build thread

I would get one piece to test fit, you don't want too much play or things will bang around off-road and could cause breakage. Telescopic tubing is available online, you don't need huge pieces so shipping costs won't be bad.

Did the 1.5 tubing fit before you welded? It's possible the 2" tubing warped a little while you were welding (happened to me). I would put a straight edge up against your 2" inch tubing and check it, mine warped right above the bed rail. Also, did you purchase telescopic tubing? You shouldn't...

    roof top tent

I have a CVT Mt. Shasta RTT on my M101A1 and have had no issues with it in high winds, even in the 40+mph winds of Death Valley. When deployed the rack is at 76" from the ground.

    Best Offroad GPS unit

I am starting to lean this way myself after also trying and using many options on different vehicles. Frankly, the clutter involved with tablets, GPS units etc. just seems ridiculous and half the time I end up coming back to my stand alone Garmin GPS. Thanks for the heads up on the Kenwood...

    My M101A2 Expo/Base Camp Trailer

Great info as always! I'm going to try to incorporate my pins when the rack is at rest but I figure I'm probably going to have to move one end of the actuator mounts to get things to line up. Great idea with the terminal block for the just in case scenario.

    My M101A2 Expo/Base Camp Trailer

I'm about to swap mine over to the linear actuators, I'm going to mimic what shack has done. I do believe 4 are necessary, even just with regular struts it seems like just using 2 would cause binding issues. I plan to get to mine between Christmas and New Years, and then I will post up in my...

Anyone here own a Jeep Renegade?

Supposedly they improved the ride on the new Tacoma, but I was so turned off by the interior that I have no interest in it anymore. I'm not in the market, love my JK, but my daughter is getting my GF's LJ so she needs a new ride, and the Renegade may just fit the bill.

Anyone here own a Jeep Renegade?

Saw the Renegade at the auto show this week, and I have to say I was really impressed. It's way bigger inside then I expected, interior was very well done, and all around I was impressed with the overall quality of the materials. Across the board, Jeep has really stepped it up. I sat in the...

    My project build/ Expo trailer.

Water wise, I usually carry 3 x 5gal Scepter cans and have yet to run out on 3-4 day excursions. I'm looking to do a 25 gal on my M101A1, to help cover showers. I think 50 gal is going to be whole lot of extra weight to be carrying on the trail and otherwise. Just my 2 cents of course. I'm...
