Best way to get an accurate Sandglow paint?

First, let me say that I'm glad to see you driving a Montero. I've always loved these trucks, and I still miss my '94. Secondly, if you're really after painting it a color that is more of an earth tone, have you considered choosing an original color to the Montero or something close? Here's...

Best way to get Mom, Dad and Kiddo out on the water?

I would suggest getting the boat the fits the needs of the type of water you'll be on most often. Then, rent what you need for other types of water. Or, don't buy, but rent what you need when you need it. Another suggestion, look for used equipment instead of new. Most of the time this stuff...

    Painting a Pelican Box????

I think this is an excellent suggestion. If yellow isn't available in the size you need, maybe the orange one is.

    pistol decision - 9mm

Don't rule out a Glock 26. I bring it up because you mentioned light weight and concealable as selection criteria. Don't let the short grip hold you back until you've had a chance to shoot it. I thought the same thing when I was looking at the Glock 27 (.40 cal version; same frame). The...

    Finding a Camera

So, that's the deal breaker, eh? No auto pop-up flash? I just read the manual, and it does tell you when it recommends that you use flash. This thing looks super easy to use and has a lot of features for very little money.

    1995 Montero SR overheating

It's not common that I know of. My '94 didn't have those issues. I'm just guessing here, but did they check the fan clutch? Water pump?

    Finding a Camera

Also, I'd recommend used. A D90 or D300 (not D300s) or even a good D200 with 1 or 2 used pro lenses and you'd be set for a long time. Sure, you don't have a warranty, but you likely won't need it either. If you do, the lenses can often be repaired. The bodies can be replaced for even less in...

    Finding a Camera

Pat, that hit the nail on the head perfectly. I've had this conversation with people all the time. Also, my own journey has been similar. Now, I'm at the point where I have been buying used bodies for 1/2 the cost of the latest. Thanks for posting that. The author summed it up nicely.

Calling all Gen III / 3 enthusiasts

Obviously, I'm a big fan of the gen III trucks. Sliders and skid plates aren't sold in the US that I'm aware of...at least they weren't when I needed them. I had them made, but that will cost you a bit more than buying off the shelf. There is a company out of Australia that makes and sells...

    High End Flatbed Scanner

Exactly what I was thinking. My Minolta scans are way sharper than my Epson flat bed scanner, but for medium format it's expensive.
