    PovertyRoamer- F550 4x4 CC 7.3 11' flattie moto/mtb/surf sherpa with a Lance 1040

Keep a spare CMP sensor in the glove box too and know how to change it. Get a quality one from International or Ford, the cheap aftermarket made in China ones are known to have issues. The other issues I've repaired quite a bit on the 7.3s are the under valve cover harnesss and valve cover...

    International 3800 adventure bus build

PM me the last 8 digits of your VIN if you want to know what components your bus was built with. I'm a mobile mechanic for an International dealer and can look that stuff up by VIN, I work on buses for quite a few school districts too.

    Iowa to Alaska and back

Excellent story. As someone who is just a year or two behind you in age it brought back memories of some "foolish" but totally awesome things I did as a young man.

Are you stuck on Fords? I prefer the Cummins for working on, much easier to access.

Congratulations. I've been across west TX a few times, even in a pickup doing 80+ it was still a very long day.?

Off grid cold starts with Ford 7.3 IDI (forced air option?)

Double check your glow plugs and relay. All the 7.3 IDI cold start issues I've worked on are because there were a few glow plugs burned out. Also make sure your batteries, cables, and starter motor are good so it cranks over fast enough. Try running some diesel additive in colder weather too...

1949 International/Jeep Wrangler Rock Crawling & Overland Build

All my Internationals are 1960s and newer. I have played with the idea of getting a R190 with an inline 6 gas engine though.

    FOUND Vans For Sale!

I work at an International dealer in Spokane WA and just found out they are taking in 5 shortbus Ford E350s on trade. They are all 7.3 diesels, two are handicap other three are normal. They are 2001 to 2002 models with 180k-200k miles. WA schools have a pretty rigorous safety inspection...

How miserable is it to drive a RHD "manual" 81?

I've worked on a few mail Jeeps and the hardest thing for me was I would always go to the left door to get in to drive it.

Driving a 30’ Box Truck Over Engineer Pass, in an attempt to prove SWB 4x4 drivetrains aren’t really needed....

Not the truck drivers fault. What you see in that picture is an Alpha male trailer marking its territory.

Driving a 30’ Box Truck Over Engineer Pass, in an attempt to prove SWB 4x4 drivetrains aren’t really needed....

Should be fairly easy to get out of the road, release park brake and a push, let gravity do the rest.

Driving a 30’ Box Truck Over Engineer Pass, in an attempt to prove SWB 4x4 drivetrains aren’t really needed....

I'm thinking recovery will be in the 10s of thousands of dollars. Heavy wreckers are high dollar units.
