We have two of those Worthington Aluminum 10 lb tanks. The only bracket I found that would fit was located in Australia and the shipping was too much to make it worthwhile. My wife wound up designing lockers to carry the tanks in.
They mount onto the running boards of our teardrop trailer...
See if this works for you Colonial Cousin, I'll link the page on the Blurb website that I get when I search through Blurb. The Teardrop Year Thanks for your interest in the book!
The title was easy as the chassis came with a VIN from the trailer company. Simple as a trip to the DMV...
I just checked one tire, it's at 9/32". Looking back through my truck thread, at my last rotation it was at 10/32". The math figures out to roughly 4500 miles per 1/32". It's a daily driven truck that sees the woods and beach on weekends and vacations so your mileage may vary.
If I were to...
Try these Steward/Stand stainless steel wallets. I picked one up at the Smithsonian gift shop last year, it's been wet, roughed up, dropped in the mud and still looks new....
What do you want? Something like: I've got 46,000 miles on my tires. They do OK in the rain if I stay easy on the V8 from a standstill. Freeway speeds and windy road traction is good, wet or dry.
I was in NorthWest PA over Christmas
and while the photo doesn't show it, the road was quickly...
I think I'm at 45000 miles now on the Maxx's. Maybe 50, 000. (Nope, I checked, actual mileage is 43,000) I'll have to look back. Regardless I'll get another 10-20, 000 our of them so next fall I'll be buying them again.
No they are not loud. Louder than new, yes, but no where near mud tire...
Not on the truck. The added weight is really not noticeable driving the truck. I've got upgraded brakes (slotted rotors and EBC pads), so the truck stops great and still accelerates great. The only issue with tire weight is doing rotations every 5000 miles, at 61 lbs for the tire and 35 lbs...
The 2000s to 2003s have issues with cracked exhaust manifolds. Mine has been that way for years but it's only really noticeable when the engine is cold. The cheaper and simple fix is a set of aftermarket headers. my engine is currently at 206, 000. No issues with the truck at all. ..
Having had both the ST (255/85/16) and the ST MAXX (285/75/16) I can tell you that personally I prefer the MAXX. It's smoother and quieter on the road, and still just as good in the snow and mud, and it's got a better more puncture resistant sidewall.
Thanks! Initial seat of the pants feel is good. Easier on the rough bumps in the road. Time will tell....
Fenders are not moveable due to the construction of the running boards. Well, really anything can be reconstructed, but I'd rather not.....
