UAV-TD (Urban Assualt Vehicle - tear drop) build

When we explore, we set the trailer up in an area as a basecamp, then use the truck and our hiking boots to explore the area for the week-at-a-time we get for vacations. Sometimes we will move the trailer if we find a better or more scenic campsite. We've walked a long way down many "roads" to...

UAV-TD (Urban Assualt Vehicle - tear drop) build

We put these Fulton drop leg jacks on the front of our teardrop. We found that with the wheels further back on the Benroy style trailer, the back was stable at camp. The front was shaky with just the wheel jack holding it up, and in some camping situations it wasn't tall enough to level...

    Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx

Quick tire update: The Tundra is sitting on 205,000 miles. That gives me 42,000 on the ST Maxx tires. Not bad and they are not done yet. The tread depth on three of the tires is 10/32", the fourth tire is at 9/32". Why the difference? Well, that tire was on the right rear. With 200,000 on the...

    100,000 miles

All right. I'll give you a series of bad photographs that don't really look like they should because some of the are from under the truck which makes the photos look weird and hard to identify. Except the first one, a repeat from earlier shows the Hidden Hitch from the front, it tucks all the...

Feels really heavy now doesn't it? Lol. Looks good on the trailer.

UAV-TD (Urban Assualt Vehicle - tear drop) build

Our hatch weighed 60 pounds by itself. When mounted on the trailer by the hinge it requires two 150 lb gas struts to get it to open. It was veeery difficult to open without the struts (and I'm 5'8" 230lbs a little overweight but hey I work out 4 nights a week), I could lift it (not easily)...

If Toyota made a DIESEL Tacoma for the US, would you?.....

I agree, and if Toyota dropped a 4.6L V8 with 310 HP in a Tacoma I'd be tempted to buy one....

UAV-TD (Urban Assualt Vehicle - tear drop) build

I second this. One of the best things on our trailer is the running boards. Sit in the door with your feet on the boards, not dangling 2 feet above the ground. Put your shoes on easily. Stand on them to wash the top of the trailer. Sit on them when BSing with friends. Great platform for sitting...

Matthewp's MuTTT (Multiple Terrain Tactical Teardrop).

Nicely done! Once it's all sealed up it should be quite weatherproof. Where did you source your hatch?

The CrowsWing - Offroad Teardrop Trailer

We were invited to camp at Piney Woods group campground at North Bend Park on the Kerr Reservoir a few weeks ago. This was mainly a Camp Inn trailer gathering but they included us, a Serro Scotty, and a newer Tab trailer with a teardrop style kitchen in the back hatch. One of the Camp Inn guys...

The War Wagon: A 2005 Toyota Tundra AC's transformation to Overlanding Rig

I'd recommend a set of custom built Deavers or Alcan Springs, combined with a set of Timbren or AirCell bumpstops. The custom springs can be designed to carry the load and ride at the height you want for that load.

Cooper ST/Maxx or tried and true BFG All Terrains

I've got 40,000 miles on mine and should get another 10-15,000 out of them.....and I very much prefer them over the BFG AT's that I ran years ago....
