    Introducing the "Overland Junk Drawer"

That is nice. Gives me bad ideas for spending good money. We've been using a MAD bag to carry maps, cameras, kindles and such in the truck cab on our trips. Way less organized with it being just a duffle. The tactical version is probably kevlar or some similar material with titanium inserts...

The camp cot thread; what's good, what's bad ...

busted..... . hopefully our frame will be done next week...... . and so I don't feel that we're hijacking this thread: Slumberjack cots really are comfy

    Time for new tires

Before I got the 285 series ST Maxx on the Tundra, I ran through 2 sets of ST's in the 255/85/16s. The first set went 50,000 miles and the second set went 40,000 (due to alignment issues with the truck, no fault of the tire). Trouble free daily driven miles (rain, snow, dry pavement), and lots...

    Time for new tires

'Doc has ICON (I think) UCA's. Does this change the fitment of the stock wheel/285 tire? Is the aftermarket control arm different enough in shape that it won't rub? . If the ICON uca let's a 285 tire fit with a stock wheel then it opens up a whole bunch of different tire options over the 255's

    Time for new tires

I voted other, either: The Cooper ST, which you can get (for now) in the 255/85/16 and is a great long wearing go anywhere agressive AT. or The Cooper ST Maxx, which you can get in a 285/75/16, great aggressive AT style tread, quiet on long road trips, and I'm working on seeing how well they...

80 Series TJM 13 Bumper Install

Seriously? That's all you can say? Dude gets a nice shiny new bumper and got it installed by himself and that's your only comment? Try something positive. . Nice job! That's a good looking bumper, It looks like it has a great approach angle. I give it two thumbs up!

    '03 Tacoma Build

If the Duratracs don't work out Cooper has their AT3 and the original Discoverer ST in a C rated 265/75/16.......unless the SAC and the 35's replace the GYs

    Best Eating Game Animal

BBQ raccoon is pretty good, not at the top of my list, but definitely edible. . pan fried Woodchuck isn't half bad either

    Best Eating Game Animal

Birds are animals.....so are fish. . This question is too difficult, choose one favorite? Like favorite book, movie, song or ExPo rig; there's just too many good things to choose from, but I'll try . I'll go with black bear (mmmmm bear roast:chowtime:), squirrel (pot pie), frog legs, turtle...

The CrowsWing - Offroad Teardrop Trailer

We really haven't been able to do more yet. We did make a trip to Reading PA, to Industrial Plywood, which was the closest place we could find that would get us 3/4" 5x10 sheets of plywood. It gave us a good reason for an overnighter since it was a 3 hour tour to get to Reading. The hard part...

    2008 Chevrolet Colorado build

Good looking setup. Nice to seesomething a little different. . I like the bedrack, but I'm going to recommend LineX or Rhinolining over the powdercoat. I had my bedrack powdercoated (after a trial year of just being painted) and it has chipped enough from 1 years usage that the rack is...

    Haggis' Multi-Use Tundra Build

Can I add that the teardrop: A) is nimble and lightweight like the Chaser style trailer. If you get that into a tight spot it too is easy to manuever by hand. B) Your Jeep could tow it. C)It is not at all like towing your cargo trailer D)You already have the Gazebo, get the wall system for...

    $20k Budget, 2004-06 F-150, 1st gen Tundra or 2000-2002 F-250, 7.3L

OK I'll throw my vote in for the 1st Gen Tundra. For your needs a 2005 or 2006 Double Cab. . The 1st Gens ride excellently on pavement or rough roads. . IMO, the 4.7 liter V8 is one of the most underrated engines ever. Silky smooth and plenty of power for it's size. Mines at 175,000 with no...
